I just bought a wireless charging car phone holder for my note 10. It has a suction cup mount, but I can't find a good spot to mount it on my 2017 prime. Any ideas?

As far as I can tell, there is no good place for a suction cup mount on the Prime, especially if you're using a sun screen in the windshield when you park in the sun. I had one with a long arm that stuck to the little triangle window, but the arm finally broke from the weight.

We use one of these since my phone case is too thick and protective to allow wireless charging. It sticks well to the textured dash. I have it over toward the left and drape the charging cable behind the holder.

I'm using the one that uses one of the cup holders in the center console area as for the base.
It's close to the USB port in the armrest box so location is good with minimal exposure of the charging cable.

I have a universal mount phone holder. It has around 8 different attachments. I have been using a CD player mount so it sits right above my Prius Screen with a CD adapter inserted into the useless CD player.

I had one like that for my PiP. I liked having it in the CD player since that way the phone didn't block the A/C and get frozen to boot. But the Prime Premium and Advanced don't have CD players. :(

HEY!! I just had an idea. Most of us complain about that big nearly useless screen with the awkward nav system. Why not stick a suction cup style holder to that thing? :ROFLMAO:

I’ve done that to my screen on my 2016 4Runner and upon removing it the glass cracked :( dumb idea good suggestion but it’s asking for trouble :)

I've attempted this in many rental cars over the years. It's much easier to carry a portable mount for my own gear than it is to learn a whole new system with each car.

Turns out not all touchscreens can accept a suction mount. Some have a layer of plastic that's actually a bit porous, so air leaks in and spoils the vacuum.

Later I gave up on the suction mount and got something that clips onto the air vent. Obviously it fits some cars better than others but I've never had it not fit at all.

So so ya know, there was a ROFLOL emoticon at the end of my "suggestion." ;)

You may be laughing, but it's a great idea. I wish it worked better in practice, because that center-dash real estate is great!

Most cars sold today have some kind of touchscreen interface in the middle of the dash and they're almost universally awful. Just low-grade, poorly thought out trash. And the latest trend is to upsize the display. I just read that the new Suburban will have a 38" panel.

I use a magnetic vent mount. Although the phone is fairly heavy it has never fallen off. Only takes a second to mount it. The mounting angle seems to pick up less glare than the worthless 11" screen.

I use an iOttie Easy One Touch 4 Dash & Windshield mount. Works great.

I don't and won't. It stays right on my belt with the "do not disturb I'm driving" option turned on. I see way to many drunks (I mean cell users) on the roads already.

Some use their phone as a dash cam though :)

Yeah, but: map updates on the built-in navigation system would cost more than I want to spend, but the navigation apps on my phone get frequent updates.

...and of course, none of you would ever consider using said cell phones to talk and/or text while driving.

I can talk on the phone via the car's Bluetooth link to my phone even when the phone is in my pocket, so having it where I can see for navigation purposes it makes no difference.

    Of course.

I'm all for road safety and I do my bit, but it seems uncharacteristic of you to care about what other people do with their own property.

You're right. I don't care if people drink or otherwise partake "either"...until they get behind the wheel.
