That on the cheaper side station has leveled off at $3.99/gal. The more expensive stations that I pass on the way home have leveled off at $4.25/gal. These are all for regular.
did this turnout to be a nothing burger? reading about new iran sanctions on cnbc, they mention on 20 september that it had a 'pentagon says it has a dramatic impact on global markets'
Pretty much.... You can make gas go up a little, but there's too many places to get it to go back to the old days of odd-even gas days and global supply disruptions.....
OTD plus DEL...more like $40...and I do. Likely switching to E85 after a little "work" though. Having happily driven a Prius for almost 10 years (and many POS before), I find this car is absolutely amazing. We still have my 2015 Prius and the Wife's 2017 RAV4 HV for daily driving though.
Well, there were no shortages but the station that I mentioned which eventually made it up to $3.99/gal eventually went back down in price. IIRC, it was $3.29/gal for regular tonight. (They were selling diesel for over $4/gal, $4.09/gal IIRC.) I have no more ICEVs (since Feb 2019) so gas prices only tend to have an indirect effect on me, unless I need to buy gas for a rental car.
nothing ever changed here. i have heard that cali is dropping, but not sure if saudi caused the increase
Re: diesel, I am thinking Ca. has CARB diesel so that might be unique to Ca. and combined with other factors probably makes diesel more costly in Ca. vs. Florida where another poster recently posted $2.69 diesel in FL I think he said.
Comparing the world today with the world 50 years ago, anybody have pictures of Dubai in the 70's Struck me while reading this thread, some of the reasons the Middle Ea(st)rth is the way it currently is.
Gas had already gone back over $2 here......presently $2.20. Probably will go up a little more now. Iran has been pretty frisky lately. This thread was started when Iran used drones and missiles against the House of Saud. They've also attacked tankers and embassies in addition to their activities with a lot of terror groups beginning with "h" (houthi, hezbollah, hamas.) So... During the Obama administration, the WH personally approved drone strikes.....and we DID drone folks. TIFWIW...... Trump loosened the fetters a little bit - more than likely giving release authority to the CinCs (Centcom) and our droning activities lately have actually seemed to slow up quite a bit.......but this is probably circumstantial rather than one administration's reluctance to drone or missile people over another - although Trump DID appear to halt a retaliatory strike against Iran for shooting down one of our 737-sized drones over international airspace. Take THAT all for what it's worth. The military are't stoopid. Qasem Soleimani decided to visit neighbors....and he didn't practice good OPSEC. He clearly needed killin IMHO if for no other reason than all of the Gold Star families that he helped get started. He's been busy doing other stuff too. The military KNEW that droning him would be a fairly big deal, and so THEY went to the WH and got a thumbs up to help Qasem take a dirt nap. Next move: Iran......and they WILL react. Film @ 11. Fill your tanks. Gas is going up some more! BUT(!) If you drive a PHEV/BEV????? (TSLA is tickling 450....) Not so much of a big deal......
