Interesting post David. I've only see 29+ on the meter for a few weeks, over 30 only 3 times, and then it started decreasing. As I said, I travel 28 miles each way to work and of late have been running out of battery a mile from the office but now that it's cold I'm running out 5 to 7 or even 8 miles away which seems extreme but what do I know. I'm going to start logging tomorrow as you have done, I worked from home today. The guess-o-meter is something that I'll pay less attention to thanks to this thread.

I'd searched the forum for this kind of info before starting this thread but obviously didn't try the correct search terms. Thanks for the pointer.

Bob, earlier in the year when I was commuting, I logged my daily EV miles and temps for my 36 mile commute. Hope this gives you an idea on what to expect with fairly conservative driving. Hopefully the chart comes through.

Yes thanks. I consider myself a fairly conservative driver, 60-65 on 95 & use cruise control a lot. But I've not seen numbers as high as yours during the summer, I'd love to have. OTOH, if I were to drive below 60 I might but not on 95! Adding speed into the mix would be interesting.

Those speeds were about 3 mi. @ ~30 mph, 30 mi. ~61 mph and then 3 mi. ~36 mph. Not very much elevation at all and not many stoplights. Of course there are many other factors also.

It is a great car, that's for sure. As for the "guess-o-meter," here's a telling example. My regular commute is at 50 mph with lots of stops and some sections of stop and creep. Most times, when I start up, it predicts about 11.9 miles. One Sunday morning, we used up all our EV on a different route that had lower speeds and fewer stops. Next morning, it was predicting 13.9 miles.

Thank you to @Salamander_King for pointing me to your graph @Prius from Dad !!! I was noticing improved EV range as ambient temperatures increased. :) Thank you for the great work!

This should be a sticky. I have referred to this graph so many times.

Winter has come (and our EV miles have diminished) :)

I am still increasing the EV range on my PRIME. That is, at least on the GOM. ;)
