Prius 2016 Gen 4 - Automatic doors lock, how to?

Didn't know that there was such an option!

 

It's not available in most countries - certainly not here, and quite a few members commented that it's not available there either. I think mainly American countries had it - but could be wrong.

I don't think there were any comments by Japanese members - so not sure if it was available there.

 

Not available in the UK either, its a feature I really miss having had it on cars for years and years

 

I've never had it. But when I worked in a vulnerable high-security position, I loved how the FORD Focus and Fiesta, you could program the "UNLOCK" to only unlock the driver's door. PRIUS insists on unlocking all 5 doors!!! which which surprised (synonymous for annoyed) me, as FORD had it 13+ yrs ago.

 

Can you not set that option with Carista?

 

Nope - not even the TOYOTA guys could - I went back and grizzled to the salesman (who was their top PRIUS mechanic but had been injured) - he said no, it's not an available facility.

 

must be a gen 4 or outside us thing, all 3 of mine had had it.

 

i'm confused by the 'insert the ignition key' part

it may not apply to prius

 

From what I've read, I think it's only USA models, definitely not on Australian cars.

 

For about 3000 Yen (or around 25-ish Euro) Amazon Japan has OBD dongles that lock the doors when you drive off.

I was going to order one, the Mrs likes that feature, but I never got round to it.

I searched a few EU sites for something similar but didn't see anything.

I can't post a link because I am a new member, but I searched Amazon Japan for "Prius 50". There's loads of nice stuff on there.

 

I'm Canadian and mine is the 2019 Prius. When I shift out of park all the doors auto lock. When I was messing around with the settings I did notice it allowed me to select some other options (of which escapes me for now).
