Air Bag lights

    Perhaps, in a car where you have zero reason to suspect any of the other reasons the SKS might not be working.

    I'm not sure that sounds like this car though.

    We've already had Aftermarket Я Us in there with their wires and tape trying to make a remote starter work, and giving up, and taking most of it back out (to the very highest of workmanship standards, one can only assume). And it's already reported that other stuff is acting weirdly.

    The antennas for detecting the fob inside the car are located in a few places, as shown in the wiring diagram. If I remember right, Techstream can show you some info about the different regions covered by the antennas and where the fob is being detected. That might lead to some clues about what bits need to be put back together.

    It's even possible for SKS to be turned off, in which case only holding the fob to the button will work, as designed. There isn't a handy switch for that in Gen 3 as there is in Gen 2, but there is a chicken dance for it.

    This is an important point. I’d start with the dome light and air bag problems, myself.
    Yes, and then wait 90 seconds. See this posting and the Repair Manual.
    Unless you’re working on the high-voltage parts of the hybrid system, that’s probably not necessary. As long as the car is not in READY, the system main relays will be open, isolating the HV battery.

    Thanks, so if the sks got turned off, How could test for that, and reset.

    Well great news, I started checking the fuses in the engine compartment box, and the 7.5 fuse was blown. Thanks to all of you

    if the buttons on the fob won't lock/unlockwonderful, what circuit is that fuse for?

    its the 7.5 ECU-B smart key system, multiplex communication system, personal lights, gauges and meters. its located in the fuse box under the hood. page 465 #30

    there is also another 7.5 fuse, labeled ECU-B2, Smart key system, in the same fuse box

    one may be for just the key itself, verses the one on mine that was blown affected dash lights/seatbelt lights etc.

    The labels on the Prius fuse box are about as good as the ones on grandpa's fuse box, where one of them will say "fridge" and nothing about the other 15 things on that circuit. Really the wiring diagram (more info) ends up being where to go if you really need to know what's downstream of a particular fuse.
