well its obvious they don't care :p

if they only sell enough to satisfy the head turners, it won't last long. but like they're first vehicle, maybe its the prelude.

musk does make mistakes though, mostly due to ego.

Both gasoline AND batteries catch fire. Why would ANYbody want to push unbreakable glass as a safety feature ?!? The best you can to is crack it? No fireman wants to watch you screaming as you ignite inside your break proof cab & no one wants to drown, because your glass break tool can't get you free from 7 feet of river you just slid into. Bob Wilson posted a mini SCUBA gag picture somewhere. But even your emergency air will run out.

You know I didn't even think about that.
    But you're absolutely right.
I think there is more safety disadvantage to "unbreakable glass" than advantage to having unbreakable glass.
Thinking now, it won't reach the streets with that glass.

Because people still don't wear seatbelts, and get tossed out during crashes, some cars have laminated side windows. The front ones on the Prius and Prime are.

Someone better tell Musk, he announced that the glass didn't break during testing and that it will be fixed. Maybe he'll supply steel balls for the interior, when he sells the trucks.:p

anyone who shows up at the lake in my fishing club driving that would be the butt of so many jokes. :ROFLMAO: Yeah, if they want truck buyers to purchase this then they are in trouble. They probably got help from some "focus group" on things they wanted. Yet never failed to ask those in the group if they actually owned/used a pickup.

It’s very possible that Tesla views standard truck buyers as not being apart of their audience, AKA unreachable and anti EV.

while popular thought is that the truck will weigh a metric megaton, it’s possible Tesla is making a vehicle based solely on truck aero, cost, simplicity, weight and strength
    (I hope)
What they are calling an exoskeleton is just another form of unibody and it very well might save weight and cost.

    as strange as it sounds
    (from previous experience)
in certain applications the cost of standard steel, forming, plus “finishing “ auctually costs more than low end bare stainless .

Also I am a buyer of ugly cars and quite like them, sadly I’m at the point in my life that I don’t need multiple vehicles and very likely not a truck (though I own an old one that is cheaper to own annually for yard duties than a rental)
I’m uncertain if the folks that don’t care about looks are also the folks who will buy a pickup let alone a Tesla one but who knows.

lots of vehicles I see now days look ugly/generic to me maybe Musk being Musk will have takers of whatever he craps out, especially after the thing becomes designed for production

my guess is it works like a knife and cuts the other car in half

of course there will be takers, but when you look at f150 sales, its a tough slog

it took tesla 4 vehicles to come up with a winner, maybe they'll get the pick ups in 3

I wanna see that roll-up cover work when the truck is parked on uneven ground with 1000lb loaded on one side of the bed.

And what does it cost to fix when it freezes open or shut?

The windshield is enormous. That looks like a parts logistics problem.

Anyone that owns a Prius knows...looks are subjective. I predict tailgating will be reduced though.
