Hey guys so I have a blown headgasket on my 2011 prius with 232k miles on it is it a good idea to open up the radiator hose and pour some of the bluedevil headgasket sealer in there? I'd prefer to hear from people who actually have used it but everyone can pitch in their ideas
Blue Devil is what you use when you absolutely must get one more trip out of the car before throwing it away. Alternately view it as buying you some time, with the knowledge that the eventual repair bill is likely to be even higher due to gummed-up parts needing replacement along with the gasket itself. It has its place.
@Joele3 has used this (or something similar) and I believe is still working out the kinks. Use it only if absolutely necessary and be ready for more repairs when you get around to fixing the issue. Good luck and keep us posted .
hmm that's interesting because we also have a 2011 prius with 232k miles that just blew its head gasket, also was mis-firing but changing the fouled plug fixed that.
Our 2011 with 212K miles blew the head gasket back in October. Planning to swap to a Gen4 2016 engine.
