my pip is also very quiet on smooth surfaces, and michelin energy savers really help on rough roads

2020 Prius Prime has the Toyo Nanoenergy A41 tires. I am getting 70+ mpg in the eco mode. Does anyone know how these tires compare to the Bridgestone Ecopia EP422 Plus tires? I also see there are two versions of the Bridgestone: with and without P in front of 195/65R15. The version without P has a higher load rating and a tread 0.1 inches narrower, which likely makes it more fuel-efficient. Toyo Nanoenergy A41 195/65R15 is also without P.

    “Help” reduce noise, you mean?

Have you had any opportunities to do direct comparisons between tire types?

    Here is something to try.
Use the noise cancelling headphones, but do not connect a source.
I find that I can hear my surroundings much better (in a noisy environment) !

Yes, I have come to the same conclusion, for the most part. Although open-air noise-canceling headphones would make it even easier to hear my surroundings.

Unfortunately, that’s illegal in Texas, I gather, even if you’re not using them to listen to music (and even if you aren’t, it’s pretty har to prove that you weren’t if the police stop you).

    Oh well...

The tires conform to different standards for load calculation; American or European.

Being narrower might help with fuel economy, but with it having a higher load rating, it might be heavier, which would hurt fuel economy.

As noise levels have dropped in vehicles...so does tolerance. Buy an EV and you will hear everything...because it's so damn quiet.

Camry currently has surpassed Prius's thermal efficiency though -- the nonhybrid version is rated at 39.8% and the hybrid version is reportedly at around 41%. Prius is reportedly at around 40%.

Oh, I thought the OP was talking about their Prius not having enough creases & pleats ... because the latter could be easily fixed :)

Exactly! This is what I do most of the time driving on highway, else I need to crank the radio volume to 15-20 to overcome the road noise. But I'd rather drive in silence without the music.

Apple just released Airpods Pro (with active noise cancellation), will give it a try to see how well it does with only one earbud? I think using one earbud is legal in most states.
