Did not. But he can attest to the brutal winds today. Although unpopular, I can understand power company's decision to turn power off during high winds to prevent fires.

Saw smoke at high altitude but did not smell smoke. My understanding is smoke came from fire north of our location in the Napa/Somona area.

Walnut Creek was the terminus of our trip. We took BART into SanFran from there. We spend nights at Travis Air Force Base which is uniquely equidistant from SanFran, Sacramento, and Napa/Sonoma. Hard to beat the $73/night flat cost of the room at Travis compared to alternatives.

If you went to Travis AFB, you were less than 2 miles from me;).

A lot of fires close today, one that shut I-80 down at the Carquinez bridge:

So Bay Area traffic is a bit challenging today:cool:.

I’m in northeastern Pennsylvania until Halloween, so I’m getting the play by play from the wife;).

She said my trip was timed well:whistle:.

They do have a way with words:love:.

But my trip has a purpose: reduce the amount of my old man’s collection;):

A shot of the progress (we are about 75% full now and will be full by Wednesday):):

That was my great grandfathers and the only real salvageable thing left:cool:.

Hung it up in the garage to remember it (y).

But there are very few gems:cool:.

If their condition was better, maybe:).

It took me 15 years to get him to this point, so I’m ready to fill the 30 yard bin by Wednesday and have it hauled off(y).

My old man moved up to this location about 40-45 years ago and he talks about the barn he demoed when he first moved up that had a lot of NOS Harley parts:cool:.

As a hoarder, he kicks himself to this day for that:(.

Maybe that’s another reason for what we are doing now .

But some of the stories that accompany the work are well worth it(y).

wow, that must have been something, there was a show like that. a defunct harley dealer, iirc.

the only thing my barn came with was a lot of long dead animals.

There were 2 Harley dealers in the nearest town back in the day, and my great grandfather would swap annually between an Indian and a Harley:).

I guess the Harley bikes needed more parts just in case:whistle:.

We’ll be getting his last bike running by Wednesday:

That was a 4 year project for us and can’t wait to take it for a spin(y).
