Installed a new 12v today. Every option available to me locally was a three year warranty, so I went with the Optima yellow top. I took my volt meter with me to the different stores and tested each one for voltage. I found the open circuit voltage at one retailer to be 12.2 on their offering and 12.35 on their Optima. The other retailer had nothing in stock locally, and commented that they had sold 6 Prius batteries this week (strange). Then at the last retailer, their store brand version was at 12.4, and the Optima I bought was at 12.65. Mine was only holding 12.1 on my meter, and quickly dropped below 11v as I added accessory load. But when tested with an electronic load tester it still passes.

I remembered i read somewhere that our 12v battery is powered and charged by a regulator from the HV traction battery.
It is very hard to believe a battery thats connected to a tender/ regulator can fail. They don't get deep cycle, no heavy load while low on charge... What gives?

Removed some shiny stuff today, despite being slightly rear-ended by a dumbass in a RDX at a red light either playing with his phone or picking his nose. Guess I'll have to add fixing the bumper gap to my list of "mods".

I originally ordered a black hybrid badge on ebay, but quality was meh and it had some stupidly thick white double sided tape that was a big no for me. I accidentaly scratched the blue background while cleaning the glue off the oem badge, so I had to paint over it. Went with matte green in memory of my matte green Corolla and its former matte green wheels will be my winter wheels. Need to do the Prius badge, side ones and emblem up front next.

Decided my stock head unit wasnt doing it for me. Decided to upgrade to an android head unit. It's wired to my OBD2 port, has it's own internet connection and I'm installing a 360 backup camera tomorrow! Looks pretty nice, and it kept the steering wheel controls and JBL system!

Installed TRD rear sway bar over the weekend, and I have to say... best mod yet. The Prius back-end does not lift with some spirited turns.

Indeed. Best bang for your bucks. It's not cheap but definitely a must for those that love speed!

About 700 dollars all said and done. You can get these from AliExpress, search universal 12.8 inch radio to get hits. There are a few out there, and you'll need to axxes harnesses to get the steering wheel controls HVAC or any other accessories working.

Hands down the best handling modification out there. Loved my Prius after installing a trd sway bar.

I have a set of them in the garage and waiting to be installed. Did they come grease filled do I have to pump some grease in? Also, did your box come with the covers for the grease points?

If I had to do only ONE add-on, would it be the center brace or the rear sway bars? For best handling advantage.

Rear sway if you were only getting one thing. The rear has little to no stabilization. Just the torsion bar which isn't stiff enough to do anything but keep your springs in the spring perch lol
