Hello! I got a brand new 2020 Prius Prime LE last week and I'm loving it. Forgive me if I ask stupid questions, it's so much more complex than any other car I've owned!

One thing that's bugging me is that if I leave the stereo on when I turn off the car, the next time I turn it on, whatever station I left it on starts (at whatever volume it was at). But then it takes about 15-20 seconds for the screen to get to its home screen. Before that I get start-up screens, one of which has a continue button that does nothing when I push it. I can't turn the radio off (or change the volume or station or anything else) until those initialization screens finish. I find this so frustrating - it's often too loud but I can't change it right away!

i have the LE so it's the smaller display. Has anyone noticed this, and is there anything I can do? Thanks!

Am I the only person that has this problem? I guess I need to go back to the dealer. So everyone else (especially those with the smaller screen on the LE) - you don't get that caution screen at startup? Or you can dismiss it?

You can always use the Volume buttons on the steering wheel to immediately affect volume levels. Otherwise, remember to turn it down before exiting vehicle. My 11" touchscreen does the same thing and that delay to touch sensitivity is annoying, but not too much an issue as I turn the audio off before I power down.

My guess is it is "normal" and you are the only one who is so sensitive to it.
A VERY slight change of your habits when turning the car OFF would solve the problem.
And that might be the only option.

You're not alone. We all hate the toyota entune infotainment system. I have the same issues on the Advanced trim but I can press the audio power off button while it's still starting up to stop whatever is playing.

Even regular Gen3s have this problem, as the system seems unresponsive to controls until it has finished booting up.

But at least Gen3 has less functionality, thus less software, so can boot faster, probably a bit under half the time of yours.

Happens in my ‘20 Limited. I try to rationalize it and think of if as the signal for when it’s safe to put the car in gear. Once the screen clears and the radio comes up, I’m off! But in my previous ‘16 Tacoma the continue button worked and I could clear it. I think there was even a setting I could turn off that warning screen.
