Not exactly daily. Excursion trips. Had a 2007 pri. Used to go up without any trouble. This 2015 initially went without any troubles but now is having this issue. And yes, B for descent

Normal is 19XF, 98c is 208F. I drive uphill also to a dam here to go work out. My rpms are typically 1,700 at 20mph on sidewinding uphill roads. But once I get to parking spaces, and if traffic is slow On flat road, regen kicks in and once SOC is 50%, ICE temp is 202F. That is not good for my car but it doesn’t regen going steep uphill so no worry of overheating....yet.

Generally during normal driving condition i have not seen it go above 87 -90 c. What if the battery temp sensor is having an issue?

Something not making sense here? My guess: only sensor 1 is connected, and reading 43c. Sensor 2 and 3 are disconnected, and accordingly reading negative 51c??

Looks like a faulty sensor or an unconnected one.

BTW, that fan looks a little Dusty. I would clean it out since you are having related issues.

Cut wires that are bouncing against a ground? There's no way a NiMH battery could withstand those high temps.

I thinkbthe fluctuation on torque is due to the obd 2 adapter. I usually check the highest value

So new development. I got my prius to my trusteorthy mechanic. The guy checked everything.... block voltages, temperatures and everything. Final decision he opened the battery fan and it was this much clogged. It works apparently fine for motorways and city driving but once i need max cooling of battery on hill drive, it couldnt perform its job as required. Got the fan cleaned. Will test later.

I think its a solid theory. What do you guys think? images%20(7).jpeg
