Guys can you give me some input in this reading. The numbers on number 9 are not low, but is it charging? The resistence goes over 40....and I get a p3000 code that clears.
@jacktheripper ? No clue, but: Delta SOC looks ominous, and that's a big variation on #9. Do the (2) tests? Can you do another screen grab without the menus across the bottom? That said, think it's very uniform, just discernible.
I'll post another shot later. I plan on hooking up my prolong this weekend to see what happens before I tear into to battery box...I have some cells to test first. Thanks for now.
@Strlinmoss, are you Per from Swedan? per our email, #9 is where the orange service plug at for Gen2, make sure you have "click/lock" the plug. also, since you didn't balance all 28 blades, it is highly possible to have a blade/block with different voltage, drive it for couple of days and see if the situation improve. another possible reason (pure guessing) is that your service plug is leaking current causing #9 to drain overnight, just a thought for now.
I've been dealing with a prius with P3000 that clears and associated codes of late... Compared to a normal pack, voltage difference stat is too high and in that regard, you've same problem as I'm dealing with... In this pic block #9 shows up as the concern, but in my experience and it seems in your opinion as well, is that indication can change quickly and is easy to discount and not the problem... Perhaps load testing is needed to determine which module is really bad? Also charging up all the modules and letting pack sit for a day or two may point out a module that self-discharges faster than the others.
Thanks, I have the car hooked up to my Prolong charger, let's see if the pack will balance out. Interesting clue for me. The safety plug being near #9. Well a couple of months ago I changed#4 and did a discharge and charge but, the safety plug was not fully engaged during this procedure. So, I'm thinking this may be related.....I will let you know after the charge.
Well....I pulled the pack and changed out #9 with a couple of cells that I hand charged and loaded over the last week. 5 hours charged on the Prolong charger I unhook it at 238volts and the screen looks like this....weird #9 going to let it sit overnight....could I have a bad safety plug?
5 hours on the Prolong Charger isn’t enough to balance everything out. Let it top end balance more and then begin the discharge process. Good luck and keep us posted .
I actually received my Prolong charger this Monday and hook it up to a beaten up battery pack from a 210K miles Prius. The Prolong charger charge up the battery in about 24 hours, my #8 was the lowest block and then becoming the highest block after charging, this means #8 is the weakest block. Prolong charger did increase the overall capacity by 10% (measure with life expectancy test), but I notice the #8 block is getting even weaker now, IR increase and voltage fluctuation a lot, time to swap it out ! Let me see if I can post the video here.
I own a Toyota Prius Gen 4 2016 model, today i connected Dr. Prius app to my car via OBD2 bluetooth device, its showing 9 battery blocks instead of 14 and voltage difference is also 8.6 volts, my HV battery is working perfectly ok but why dr. Prius is showing this, see screenshot and help
