@Grit is referring to the owners manual thread I believe where the common answer is to visit the dealer;).

Or he could be hitting the bottle early this evening:cool:.

I keep ours at 38 in the front and 36 in the back with a gauge I’ve had for years(y).

I haven’t check either the RX450h or or Primes tire pressures in months:cool:.

    Maybe I should:oops:.

But either is at the dealer every other month due to mileage, and they are covered under the 25k maintenance plan, so I wasn’t too concerned yet(y).

Bumping up pressures a little will definitely improve mpg a little, and is unlikely to cause increased or uneven tire wear. Bumping it up a lot will run into the law of diminishing returns, among other issues.

As has already been said, if you actually have LRR tires, jacking the pressure up will have a very small effect.

Also more importantly because it's the right thing to do.

IMO...go by the PSI recommended by the VEHICLE manufacturer, not the Tire Manufacturer.

It's pretty simple. The Max PSI on the tire, is the MAX PSI that the tire manufacturer is saying the tire can be inflated. But that number has NOTHING to do with the vehicle you are driving.
When the tire was being produced, and that number was being put on the side of the tire? The manufacturer obviously had no idea what vehicle that tire would end up on. Tire manufacturers don't hire psychic's to predict what vehicle any tire is going to end up on.

The manufacturer on the other hand? They know what vehicle they have designed. The manufacturers recommendation DOES have everything to do with the vehicle you are driving.

Therefore I always recommend going by the Toyota, the Owners Manual, and the recommendation of the manufacturer.

I found a 20+ mile stretch of flat, 4-lane divided , non-interstate road driving between Tallahassee and Tampa in the western coast of Florida that I thought would be great for tests like that, especially in the middle of the night. The plan was to test changes in tire pressures and steady-state velocity to get objective data curves for both as the prevailing wind effects would tend to cancel somewhat by doing the 40-mile round trip. Plan was abandoned when Spouse strongly objected to spending all night driving up and down a deserted stretch of highway in rural Florida.
