Hey guys, this is my first time posting here so I’m sorry I’m advance for any issues this may cause. I’m going absolutely crazy trying to find out what’s wrong with my 2010 Prius. Not long after I purchased it, the car started to shake and rattle while going between 45-60 mph typically. This has no escalated to what almost sound a like a knocking coming from the engine bay. So far I’ve replaced or worked on: •All the spark plugs replaced •All ignition coils replaced •EGR pipe cleaned •transmission leak fixed and transmission fluid changed (at a Toyota dealer) She currently has 155,649 miles. I bought it with 140,000. I really love this car as my work car since I drive nearly an hour to and from work each day. Any help would be appreciated
Not burning any oil and no antifreeze in the oil. I’m going crazy trying to figure this out. It’s been like this for 6 months now
Gotta clean the entire egr circuit not just the pipe, if that doesn’t clear it then blown head gasket
I’ll take a look at the oil when I change it tonight to see if there’s coolant in it. I just checked the reservoir and the level is good.
Finally found the fix. Cleaned the intake manifold out including the EGR passages. Also changed the PCV valve and cleaned the throttle body. Drove it 25+ miles after with no shaking or rattling whatsoever. Thanks for al your help!
