The Jazz Hybrid only averages 5.38 l/100km [spritmonitor] while the current Yaris Hybrid averages 4.82. A new Yaris Hybrid could beat anything out there.

Incidentally - the Jazz Hybrid didn't sell well. Partly, I suspect because dealers never held stocks. I went looking a few times. At the moment, there is only one Jazz Hybrid for sale on CarSales - a 2014, and 58 x PRIUS c (7 from 2014).

Honda hybrids don't sell to well either, at least in my area. I still drive an 06 civic hybrid and I still get 40 to 50 depending, but she is a lot of work since the IMA update after the Cali Class Action against that model in 2011 if memory serves me, without double checking

 

It's different in Japan. The Jazz hybrid has outsold the Aqua some months there.

 

Another difference in Japan is that Tokyo is now the most populous city, not that the population of Tokyo has anything to do with the new TNGA platform from most Americans perspective "for the most part".
