I wonder if they made (or are making) it an equally difficult/retarded/ constipated process for the prime as well.

If they were using tar sands for electricity, bet this wouldn't be an issue.

Seemed like a pretty long winded way to confirm that demand is variable by region?

That e-F150 has a shot at starting it up there.

true - turning on warranty, range, & charging availability & speed. No one's going to sit around waiting for 4 hours - to quote an infamous advertising campaign.

Charge that electric F150 and go out on your local calls during the day trucking your tools and parts with you in the pickup form factor. How many hours does it sit in some driveway just supplying a base from which to extract needed supplies? I think it would work for many but can it be delivered at a price point where the electrician or plumber or painter can buy into that? It would certainly tow all the landscaping trailers I see around with their trucks doing maybe 20 miles a day.

Not much different from my first venture into a dealership looking for a PRIUS in 2016 - 15 years after it was first released here, and by that time, nearly every TAXI was a PRIUS.

The salesperson knew absolutely nothing. He went to the Sales Manager - who didn't know much more, didn't even realise that the Gen 4 was due to be released that day - and wanted to sell the Gen 3 in the showroom for full retail $$$ despite it being the superseded model. Next showroom a few weeks later, the saleperson said they didn't have a PRIUS in stock - but how about buying a Corolla/Camry/RAV4.

When I located my close-by dealer having one in stock, I rang and made an appointment with "someone who knows something about PRIUS". I told them that if they didn't know, I'd be walking out. Amazingly, the salesman was their PRIUS Mechanic who had had a hand injury and now working in sales. The car had arrived on Friday, when he first saw it, though he'd ploughed through all the sales literature and by the time I arrived on Monday, he was well up with the car.

My favorite question to ask stealership sales Critters, to find out if they really know their details .... I asked how big is the traction pack's bottom & top end buffers. When they go try to find a brochure (as if it's going to be in there) - that's when I head for the hills.

That’s the sort of thing I’m getting at. There are lots of ways to wear out a truck. Some of them could be done by an electric truck. I wish Ford luck on their project.

As far as I know there is a TESLA store 30km away, the only one in the state, and an IONIQ store about 20km away. TESLA stock is ZERO - and I'm not spending that sort of $$$ anyway. The IONIQ dealer shows only one IONIQ, an EV in an awful dark grey. And worse - only a black LEAF about 10km away, next closest LEAF dealer has none.

Next closest IONIQ dealer is about 130km away.

Meanwhile there's a large empty lot with tons of Model 3s and a handful of Model Xes here.

The TESLA site sent me to "BUILD MY TESLA" or something like that - sounds like brought in to order.

Tesla is direct sales from the factory. The store will have a couple cars for test drives, but no stock on hand to sell.

If you ask at the store, or call Tesla, they might have some demo cars up for sale, but I'll guess there isn't many such examples in Australia at this time. Asking a person is also the only way of ordering the true base range Model 3.

I think Model 3 (only just released here in last couple of weeks) will have quite a while to fill all the pre-orders from a couple of years back.

They're sure sending boatloads to china.
they also have a deal - something like you can buy the car, keep it for something like up to a week & /or 1,000 miles, & if you change your mind you get your money back.
