And you will want the Grey (High Precision) Panda. My understanding is that the Grey Panda is required for current and future versions of OpenPilot.

Also, make sure you start poking around the Comma.ai Discord group. There's lots of help there for getting up and running (hint: the first challenge people seem to face is "flashing the Panda").

Yes, the grey panda is better if you can afford it. Either white or grey panda will work fine, but the grey collects more data about the roads you drive on so comma.ai can use it to train better AI models for future updates. You'll benefit later when openpilot understands your local roads.

Awesome thread! I have not been here forever. I just wanted to chime in and say that we are starting to get people who like OP better than AP1. In fact the demand is so great that we are working on putting OP into AP1 cars!

Zorrobyte is doing awesome stuff, watch him!

    Super Chill Driving! OP on!

Got the product (that price tag though) and got the product to work.

The system still confuses it self when there's a split in the freeway.

And I realized this whole time I've been driving without the gps attachment installed

Just wanted to say I bought my used Prius Prime for specifically this reason, to run Openpilot on it, and I am loving it. Here is my first video with it.

Should be getting mine next week. Hope I can get it working on the 2020, it's not on the list yet.

2020 Prime will most likely work out of the box, but if you have any issues I'll be happy to help on the comma.ai discord. I just helped someone get a 2019 Rav4 Hybrid working yesterday. It seems the 2020 Prime has a better quality steering angle sensor that could be utilized with some slight code changes to openpilot if you're up for it.

Hey my Dad is getting a 2020 and he will be setting up OP on it as well, so I will be interested to hear how your experience is, please do let us know.

    Found an install video:

I missed the part where he does the obd2, or ecu plug that I've heard mentioned in this thread.

He also says it won't work on the Advanced.

Let me know the outcome of the 2020 installation. I will likely order the kit soon to apply to my 2020 Limited Edition.

And I guess the 2020 version of the advanced is the Limited edition? That is my model and would be disappointed if this is not supported.

The OpenPillot Github page says that all editions of the 2017 to 2019 Prime are supported. Maybe the install video does not address differences with the upper edition install procedures? I suspect 2020 support is coming...

I'd be up for it. But my 2020 model is the Limited Edition. Any reason to worry about problems with this package?

This is false. There are many openpilot users on the Prime Advanced including me.

Ive got a 2010 with advanced tech package which lane keep assist somehow got destroyed after a windshield replacement (Toyota's tried replacing the switch on the steering wheel, the camera, and the ECU... still isn't working).

I'm probably going to get this system and see if I can get my 2010 to self-drive... I'd that doesn't work, I'll just put the system on my 2017 Advanced.

How hard is it to setup? I'm mechanically knowledgeable and mediocre with software, but can follow instructions and learn.
(Last real programming I did was FORTRAN)

The 2010 would likely require significant software development and possibly some hardware. Might also need to look at wiring diagrams for the 2010, and check if the camera connectors are different. Also, it would be difficult to reverse engineer the lane keep assist signals on your 2010 with your system in its currently broken state.

2017 should just be plug and play. Should not be difficult at all.

Well the 2010s still at Toyota, I could probably get the wiring diagrams from them since they can't seem to fix it (been there 6 weeks).

I do have books on dynamics and controls for flight control systems. It wasn't my focus, but I'm not ignorant to the basics of how signals and sensors work for closed loop control. I just don't know the programming language.

Never been on discord, so I probably need to figure that out first.

I think the poster meant that his instructions for installation only covered the non-Advanced Prime. So that leaves me with the quest for a hardware installation video that covered the Advanced, and now Limited edition. What's different about the hardware behind the rear-view mirror when you pop the two covers off? Where/how do you plug everything in? Some close up photos of the process (or video) would tip me over to buying a unit sooner rather than later.

Ah, I see. The process is exactly the same on the Advanced. All the connectors and hardware are the same.

I see you installed the ZSS hardware. What was the install process for that like? The Bill of Materials seems to be pretty affordable.
