The silver lining is that you are balding in the back. When I get up in the morning and look in the mirror, I see a full head of hair. I'm balding in the back, but I can't see it. Someone going bald in front will see the receding their hairline every morning in the bathroom mirror. Of course you'll run into people like my sister who likes to say things the way she sees them and will go out of her way to tell me about my bald spot, but I love her anyway.
That is what I always heard: look at your maternal grandfather to see what your own hair pattern will do. But my maternal grandfather is the one who did have a full head of hair. It was my mother herself who had a bald spot, along with most of my paternal relatives.
Both my paternal and maternal grandfathers had full heads of hair and my maternal grandfather was a barber. He's the second barber from the right.
My pattern has been the "growing forehead" and thining at the top. So, to keep things fair, I cut my hair close on the sides to keep up with the thining receding pattern on top and up front. But, hey, It runs on both sides of my family, so I never had a chance. Thank goodness Samuel L. Jackson and the Rock are sexy. I still have a chance!!
