    1) What oil and filter do you use in your PiP? I am now at 30k so now will be doing my own oil changes. J

    2) Where is the best price on your filter of choice (to buy a few years worth)?

    3) Where do you find the best deal on your Oil (Wal-Mart 5 gal. is best I’ve found)?

On my other/ previous cars (2005 Hyundai, 2000 Sebring Convert. & 1999 Bronco) I had changed over to Mobil 1 synthetic regular or 15k extended mileage when I could find it and changed at 10k. For filters I’d use either Bosch or Mobil 1 long mileage filters (occasionally Fram’s long mileage).

Since my wife’s 25k annual driving will call for oil change every 5 months, I thought I’d see about saving a few bucks by buying a few years supply of filters on Amazon, local auto parts sale or wherever the best price is. It motivates me to be more ‘timely’ on oil changes when I have the filter on hand.

Hmmn... O'Reilly's web site for PiP shows many paper filters (goes into a cartridge) and only Mobil 1 (M1C154) regular enclosed type Filter. Is Toyota OEM filter # 04152-YZZA6? Got # from Toyota site, Ebay agrees, but Amazon says does not fit (has best price so far of $20.09/5 (+ shipping <$35)

Poll: Please select one oil and one filter.

Oops, hit wrong button an published poll before OEM & other choices, sorry

    Add Toyota's oil filter?

(That's what I'm using, invoice says 04152-YZZA6, as you mention above.)

As noted in last line of 1st post, I accidentally hit post while I was adding filters. Arghh! If there is a way to EDIT the poll, I'd love to do that. Tips on editing? Tks

Gotcha. I think it can be done. Not sure how, but with these polls, I see they often get comments, and the choices revised. Someone with more smarts should be along shortly. ;)

For my twice a year DIY oil changes, the cost savings between the Toyota oil & filter (what I use) and any other oil & filter is not on my radar. I would save perhaps $15-$20 a year. As such, I prefer to use the manufacturer's products.

Mobil 1 oil at Walmart is not supplied by the gallon. It's either 1 quart or 5 quart jugs. hate to be critical but let's be accurate about what we say shall we? It's usually $25 for a 5-quart jug and the mobile one website almost always has a $12 discount for that. On Amazon you can buy Toyota OEM filters at $4 each if you buy them by the half dozen

Same here; the entire time I've owned the car, it's been Quaker State "Ultimate Durability" (their branding for synthetic oil) 0W-20. 10 pack of Valvoline filters on sale from Rockauto for something like $2/filter when I bought the car; I still have 3 left.
