recently i have bought prius 2016 from japan. the only thing i know is that the car equipped with safety plus package but i can not figure out the exact model and type. even i can find the VIN. can anybody advise?
look at the sticker inside the driver's door. It will have a code like Zvw50 or something like that...
There are several Japanese models available... E, S, S Touring Selection, A, A Touring Selection, A Premium, A Premium Touring Selection (and all except the "E" are available in E-Four electronic all-wheel drive). Given it's a 2016 and has Safety Plus Package, it's probably the higher trims (lower trims were available with a no charge Safety Plus package for 2017). Getting the major stuff out of the way Does it have 15" or 17" wheels? 15" - E, S, A, A Premium. 17" - S Touring Selection, A Touring Selection, A Premium Touring Selection Does it have real leather (perforated)? If yes, then it's the A Premium Does it have premium cloth or synthetic leather? Probably one of the middle trim Is the centre console trim (the one with the cupholder) matte black plastic or does it have a trim accent in piano black or bone china white? If it's matte black plastic (unpainted), then it's an E or S model. If has a trim accent (piano black with metallic flakes with the black interior or bone china white with the white/black interior, then it's an A or A Premium). This should help narrow it down at least.
It has 15"wheels, premium cloth white and black same like dash board, center console is matte black plastic. Also if can mention the generation i.e. 2,3 or 4?
I also got confused too because I thought I had 2017 Two Eco but at Logged Out My Vehicle Page | Toyota Owners it shows Three
It's the 4th generation (2016 to now). The 3rd generation didn't have a white/black interior. Hmm... unless the cloth was an upgrade, I thought you couldn't have the matte black console with a premium cloth (basic cloth, maybe). Also, the white/black interior comes with the white console... Is it a partial white interior? So dashboard and door panels are black/white but the seats are only black? That was available on the low-mid trim levels. The only thing I can think of is that it's a "S" with the no charge Safety Plus package. Here's a flyer/poster (in Japanese but with a few English words... and pictures) https://www.fukuoka-toyota.co.jp/sp/fair/ If you have one of the 4 colours (white, silver, black or beige) and you have the LED foglights and clearance lights, auto-dimming mirror, Intelligent Clearance Sonar (12 sonar parking sensors around the car), Intelligent Parking Assist and Toyota Safety Sense P, then it's a S Safety Plus. Another website says the S Safety Plus was released on Aug 8, 2016 so maybe that's what you got (check your build date on the door jamb sticker.. if it's August or later, that'll help)
Yes you are right. My car have all these functions and it was released in Nov 2016. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
I wouldn’t expect to find a 17-character VIN on a Prius car built for sale in Japan. Instead, a plate attached to the center pillar inside the left front door should have an engraved frame number (chassis number), in the format ZVW5x-xxxxxxx. The plate also shows the model code, in the format DAA-ZVW5x-xxxxx-x; engine type (2ZR-FXE) and displacement (1797 mL); exterior paint color code; interior trim color code; assembly plant code (A31 or A32 is Takaoka; A41 or A42 is Tsutsumi); and transaxle type (P610). On Toyota’s Grade Information Search Service page (in Japanese), you can search for the frame number (車台番号) and view the model name (車名) and the marketing name for the grade (グレード). See the original specification sheet, equipment list, and equipment comparison table (all PDF, in Japanese).
Further if can guide me which forum i should see relevant to my car because i can not see Prius S forum. Which model is equivalent to my car?
