Almost a 1,000 miles since I've replaced the head gasket (yep, took me less than 2 weeks), happy to report that the car is running smoothly. However, every now and then the radio (of all things!) either starts playing on its own, or ejects CD from the changer (while being off). It never did any of it before the HG job, so I'm having a major WТF. Electrical interference? Intermittent ground failure? Wire harness going bad?… Any ideas or similar experiences?
Probably unrelated . How hot and humid has it been in Georgia? I know on our 2010 II with the basic cd system it would get finicky when it got really hot out (display wouldn’t work but the radio played). I just pushed the radio into the connectors and it stopped it for awhile. I’d say give that a shot first.
After sitting without any power for weeks and moving the harness? That dude with a smoking gun standing next to a dead body could be innocent of course, but… Spoken like a Toyota service center.
