Oil change with/without oil filter change is 4.4/4.1 US quart, so yeah, taking the oil filter housing should extract 0.3 US quart. Judging from the dipstick that would get it pretty close to the top mark.
What you meant, if I pull the Filter Housing completely off, It wouldn't drain all the oil from oil sump?
I've never done that, but I've read that here many times, I believe that's the case. Basically that the sump level is somewhat lower. You could hedge your bets: unscrew the housing most of the way but not completely, and just cock it a bit. I believe you'll see a bit over a cup come out, then it'll subside.
AND it probably says that on the OTHER side of the stick. Regardless I think he is wasting his time and is worrying unnecessarily.
After I posted, I figured out that the pointy end of the dipstick is up and the handle is down, and that’s the full marker showing; so it’s slightly overfilled. That was not clear in the early photos.
As I was running my errands this morning, my oil change required message popped up. 5k and no oil usage. YaY just what I wanted to do when it’s 95 degrees and 75% humidity.
na, i just change it yearly, no matter the mileage. i know its probably not necessary, but i don't have the guts to do otherwise. its about all i spend on the car.
A fella in here posted last week that he’s only changed crankcase oil 3 times in 100,000 miles driven.
Ok.. After slowly untight the Filter Housing and let it drain aprrox 0.3 - 0.4 quart out. I also level it car and recheck. Prefecto
