Hey guys, so my Canadian 2012 Prius c OEM tires are in desperate need of replacement, after putting 117,000 km on them in just over 7 years. The stocks are Bridgestone Turanza EL400-02 at 195/50/16. Stopped by my local Costco and that was the only tire they had to sell in that size! Is there a different size worth considering? I do have winter tires which are usually on 4-5 months/year. But looking for a quieter, smoother ride than the turanza if possible

What is your current rim side and width?

7 years 117,000KM seems to be over used for the tyres.

Bridgestone Turanza T005A is a good tyre choice for balance grip and comfort + quiet ride however doesn't seem to have it in your size.

You can try 205 50 16 (+1.7% diameter) which I'm using but a more performance oriented series from Michelin; Pilot Sport 4 do note that with the additional grip comes with higher rolling resistance.

You can also try 205/45/16 (-1.7% diameter) which may open up more tyre choices for you.

No kidding, lol. Is there any tread left, or are they basically slicks? You go through Toronto winters on those?

On the Costco Canada website, I'm also seeing Bridgestone Ecopia EP422 Plus and Michelin Energy Saver A/S.

    https://tires.costco.ca/SearchResultsByVehicle?lang=en-ca&SearchID=2012%7C%7C%7CToyota%7C%7C%7CPrius%20C%7C%7C%7CTwo%7C%7C%7C1%7C%7C%7Cen-ca%7C%7C%7CFalse%7C%7C%7C%7C%7C%7C

Costco would prefer to sell you what they currently have in stock. But they'll willing order in anything advertised on their website. And I'd suspect if you research online (say at TireRack) they'll also be willing to order in anything readily available.

Not sure what the rim size and width are, but they are the OEM tires and rims from Toyota. How would I locate it? And sorry I do have winter tires that I use, forgot to mention that. I tried the link you provided but it was still only showing 1 model available, and same if I search by size only. Even tried changing my location to Vancouver where you are (I’m in Toronto) and there was no difference. What are the Costco item #s for the tires you mentioned? And will Costco sell me/install tires on my vehicle which do not match the size of the OEMs? Pretty sure that would void their warranty, no?

Costco will not sell tires that are not the stock size. All I did is go to Costco Canada, enter stats per you vehicle. It does recognize my location as Greater Vancouver though, so maybe going through the same excercise in TO you get different outcome? Hadn't though of that.

Stock size is 175/65R15, which you can confirm with the decal in the driver's door opening, and the Owner's Manual has it as well, towards the end in the spec's section.

Here's screen grabs from that Costco link, (local to me):

    And the ones you mentioned:

All that said, the Turanza might be a good pick; look up the reviews on Tirerack.

Stock size of the 2012 Prius c Four is 195/50R/16, which is what I put in the subject line. So looks like Costco only has 1 tire in this size. I think I'll go ahead with the Turanza's despite the mixed reviews online, since I seemed to get a lot of years out of them. But with the better service at Costco I can be more diligent with the free tire rotations (which I never did before!). After taxes, installation, levies and $70 rebate, the 4 will come to $775 CAD...

Missed that you have the 16" rims.

Ok, see if I enter level "4" as your prius, then I only see the turanza's.

I agree, if you got 117,000 miles on your tires, great job!! Mine would be on the steelbelts and sliding all over the place!!
