Hi guys! I recently had my actuator and hybrid battery replaced but now it seems I have no AC. I had a local mechanic do it but he is baffled as to why the ac does not work. Have any of you done this repair and had the AC go out? Heat works fine and its blowing air just not cold air.
No warning lights and the ac light comes on when i hit ac. When i go into diagnostic mode i get code 42.
is the car new to you and is it a salvage title? How many miles? The ac will fail if the hybrid battery starts to go bad. But you say no lights on the dash or mfd? Are you sure there's no icons on the mfd to the right like a little car icon in top left of the screen? Tell us about the hybrid battery replacement where and who did that?
With the hood open and the car in ready mode, turn on the a/c with temp set to Lo and see if the radiator fans come on.
Ive got all the usual icons - little car symbol ac symbol just no warning lights. For the battery I had a cells replaced and rebalanced. It was done by a friend who works for Honda, but does side work on Priuses so he is knowledgeable. No issues with battery. Working as usual. Bought the car 2 years ago. Not a salvage. Current miles 124,000.
Are you sure? 1) The MFD (MultiFunction Display) only displays error codes for Audio and Navigation? 2) Does he NOT have Techstream? 3) AirCon error codes will be five alpha-numeric digits long, starting with "B", then four digits (B####); two high voltage isolation faults are the exception (P0AA6, P3009). Get the car read with Techstream to pull any AC codes.
I will have to go through the factory service manual and the Helms book. Both don’t make mention of this. But, getting codes w/ Techstream sure makes life easy.
