Just an update on mpg with the Bullet and testing:

Refilled tank from 1/2 way down. Did 300 miles, which is when the mid-bar disappeared on the ECO gauge. Calculations on paper show 62mpg average...which is exactly the same as my last tank average, but the dash mpg shows an average of 65.5mpg. I've been conservative with the rides though...trying to get the best mpg in the last 2 tanks to see the max I can hit with mpg.

This tank I'm just going to drive it like normal, without really trying to be conservative (ie...slow accelerations, using battery purposely, no a/c, etc.). I just want to see how much a drop in mpg there is from being conservative vs. everyday driver with the Red Bullet. My commutes are still approx 210 miles per week, 50/50 highway/side road...so that hasn't changed. Still using Exxon regular which hasn't changed either. ECO button not used anymore.

Will keep yas posted on results.

    Questions to the OP

What is the current status of the Prius C you installed this on (is still working /running)
Do you know if this could be done and or possibly available to Gen2 Prius?

Update on my vehicle. I will have my car back on Saturday. Stat on Friday.

The Red Bullet still working very well before I dropped the car off for insurance work.
Before my car was hit I was running on ECO mode.
Didn't have time to do a gas up control test before the accident.

For Gen 2, I need to know the exact year and best to know your OEM part number too so i can cross reference.

Look forward to putting a Red Bullet in a Gen 2!

Wikipedia says the Gen 2 and the Prius C share the same engine variant 1NZ-FXE. I think if they actually can run the same Red Bullet!
A part number reference will answer that question I think.

    Hi CSuirp!

I'm still out of commission for the moment. I will be back on the road soon, I hope!
From your computer results dare I say we are mirroring each other now plus and minus the MPG-km/L.
I hope the extra MPG and the power has kept you smiling!
I too can't wait to drive in normal mode when I get my car back... or drive in ECO but not having to nurse it anymore.
With the extra efficancy and power from the Red Bullet we can all enjoy a little of that extra pep!

What was the warranty again on the Red Bullet...i can't remember. Just curious. Thanks man!

Hi CSuirp! That is great news! I am going to switch off ECO mode also once I get back on the road.
The warranty is 1 year for the Red Bullet.
During installation if you do not get a C.E.L. it is then safe to say you are good to go for the life of the vehicle, given that owners follow the regular service interval to keep the oil in acceptable tolerances for the engine and associated components.

The major concerns in the beginning were installation damage to the Red Bullet. After the correct installation processes is done without incident, the manufacture do not see any reason for the Red Bullet to fail.

Got an A'PEXi Smart Accel Controller for "Clementina" today! Man, it pairs excellently with the Red Bullet! With the greater allowance of power and torque that "Clementina" was granted with the short ram air intake the the performance solenoid, the throttle controller now directs them to significantly boost the Prius C's speed! Climbing hills is now fairly easy and I can now keep up with the speedy traffic of my hometown. There's pretty much no lag on the acceleration now, and the car kind of jumps forward. "Clementina" is provoked to growl a bit more in all levels of positive acceleration when in "High Throttle Mode." This is probably the last of my performance speed upgrades. Will save up for a while for suspension and bars work. Get the Red Bullet - works well and improves performance alone or not!

    Update!
I will be getting my toy back in a few hours! New bumper they promised!
    It is really confusing sometimes...

My bumper is without a scratch before the accident. It was repainted when i baught it due to some scratches and the ugly rubber band they stuck on to it.

Now I'm getting a brand new replacement which in white color, everyone knows it will never be the same shade as the body. So... it still depreciate my value overall even though its new. Verses a old bumper with minor scratch on it will have less depreciation...
Oh never mind, I'm gonna go drive some bumper cars!

hahahahaha! Yeah....if you can find a cheap but decent auto body place later that would do a whole car paint job, that may be a good option. Great that your getting it back soon though anyway.

I have been driving with mine for a short time and noticed the difference in performance. It's like it shifted 8-10flbs down lower.

    Hi PriusCpilot!

I hope the installation was smooth. For the Prius C it is a bit of a squeeze.
Don't forget to turn off the ECO mode.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.

    Drive safe!

    Hi CSuirp,

Just got back from zipping around town. Feels so good not having to commute! It was nice to use the phone and people watch on the subway.

So i turned off the ECO mode. Wow how much i missed out! Very peppy!
They have to touch up on the vehicle, the main rubber strip they tried to use from the previous vehicle didn't stick anymore. So we going back in for that next week.

They always power wash the car with some sort of detergent, it always take my nu finish "the once a year polish wax" off.

Its so much work to do it everytime. I will have to wait until they do the rubber strip before I can apply the coating again. Otherwise that product is so glossy that the double tape won't bind.

I m happy my toy is back. Getting more data from the Red Bullet and looking for racing team to work with is our mission this quarter!

If anyone knows someone who will be intersted, let me know!
The Red Bullet will fit on 130 vehicle's so I think there will be one for every major engine configurations.

You can't dyno on a CVT without the ability to lock gear ratio. You need a fixed ratio for the dyno to calculate.

My FC is coming back after fitting larger rubber. 205/50/16. Currently hitting about 20.2km/L display for average mileage. Some trips I'm able to get 24km/L after shutting down the engine and that's the value being displayed.

I was getting 17-18km/L average from changing new rubbers. Good the see the FC climbing back up. I've also decide that I want to do an A/B set and see if adaptation reset improves anything.

    Hi Frenzee,

The manufacture have done dyno with the Red Bullet on vehicles with fixed ratio. We have results for that on a Toyota Altis, also members have done drag runs with it and had results within this thread. I'll post it here soon for the dyno.

Royston has a very tricked out GPS that he wowed me the other day! I can't wait for him to post those videos!

If you have further questions regarding the Red Bullet, please do not hesitate to contact me .
