cnc97, here are 2 more pics of that hose area, you thought might be suspect to have the bleeder at.

I looked at mine today. The bleeder screw is actually in the port pointed skyward in your pic. Why did Toyota decide to get rid of it?

cnc97, seems like I should just simply "upgrade" mine to a 2010 model or so and just exchange it with a valve type....

GO BIG OR GO HOME!!! I guess if you are gonna test an engine, why waste a month worrying around home when you can go see the smoky mountains or listen to some country music! hahahaha

Glad it's working out for you!

A 1400 mile shakedown is some level of confidence! Glad it went well.

Ok guys. My 2010 decided to lay down on me. After reading this I decided to give it ago. Bought a 10k 2017 engine for 1000 shipped. Got it home. Swapped the flywheel and balanced and passenger side motor mount. My egr was plugged and being a 10 I didn’t want to buy a new egr or i take manifold. So. I was able to remove the exhaust manifold studs out of the block except the one closest to the egr. I then took my 2010 manifold and bolted it tight to the egr and made sure the one bottom far left hole was slid over the only stud in the block. I used a propane torch and heated the egr tube and wedges a long pry bar in the exhaust manifold. I was able to twist/bend the manifold into place to line up all the holes. It didn’t dent, crack, or distress the metal in any way.

Now that I have the old exhaust manifold hooked to the new egr setup and was able to make the intake work I have a heater hose question. Btw, the stick exhaust bolted up with no issues. I have three heater hoses coming off the car, and two connections on the new egr. I am trying to see if I am able to tee the extra line into the existing system to make it work. One of the hoses goes to the heater core. The other two seem to run down to the cat. There are two right next to each other and one off to the side that runs under the car. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

So you modified the Gen 3 manifold to use the Gen 4 cooler? Pics of this feat of modification would be outstanding.

The hoses going under are the input and output of the exhaust heat recovery. You may need to use the T with the bleeder to tie it all together. Pictures again might be helpful.

@Ragingfit videos go into some detail about rerouting the heater hoses, one of the videos near the end.

I seen them but he used the gen 3 egr setup with the gen 3 intake. I am trying to use all the gen 4 parts. Minus the exhaust manifold obviously.

The first pic is the gen 4 EGR. The second pic is the gen 3 manifold on the gen 4 motor, and the third pic is the gen 3 egr tube bolted to the gen 4 egr. Literally all I did was heated up the egr tube and twisted the whole manifold and it lined right up. Took all of 15 minutes to do. I was worried it wouldn’t work.
