I have a prius 2008 outside of the United States and its giving me problems after 4 years ..(I'm the second owner) the first problem that I can live with is that it was running with a blank dashboard and the second and most immediate problem is that the motor or engine is not starting anymore and if it does it's only for few seconds before it dies.. and I get two icons on the top part of the screen .. one is the 12v auxiliary battery and the other is the hybrid battery (pic1) so at this point I don't know what battery is causing the problem.. could someone help me and let me know if this is the hybrid or the 12v auxiliary battery thank you very much in advance.. It looks like both. Replace the 12 V first, then see where you're at.

start with a 12v battery test, free at most auto parts stores. but it looks like you've run the hybrid battery down too low, maybe trying to start it? then again, might be an engine problem. trouble codes would sort it out.

If the engine is trying to start and doesn’t it’s not the battery, it’s something with the engine. Have you checked for codes?

Yes but the dreadful p0a80 is the only code I see and something else I replaced the battery and,now the new one is draining very fast down to 9.94v and still I get the codes

The battery is draining fast even with the new one I just got it a day ago and it's down to 9.93v

What are you using to check the codes? Toyota compliment or general generic?

In all honesty I don’t know what Torque Pro can or cannot read. I have Tech stream myself. You state the engine will not start. How can we figure this out?

Any you get no codes whatsoever? Plus are you sure the engine is really starting? More than 1 member here has said the engine started only to find it was really the start cycle.

What is P3193? It seems to me to be more important than the P0A80 currently.
