And I thought I was doing good, brought home a lift chair today, plenty of room left.

That all looks impossible, but congratulations are in order. You might win this thread with that. I guess the wooden pallet didn't go in?

Thanks guys! It was quite the experience. I completely underestimated the total size and I didn't want to drive back 40+ miles so I was determined to make it work. Plus, I've never had any issues with my other big hauls in the car. It started with many doubters from store employees who brought out the product to people walking by but it ended with a bunch of smiles and much respect for a... Prius.

I definitely didn't bring the pallet back, ha. The car was completely filled, top to bottom, and from the trunk all the way up to the passenger side windshield. There were a ton of cushions...

Last week, I picked up a lift chair in the Prius with plenty of room left, then Thursday, I went to the building supply to pick up a 40 gal water heater, the owner said, "you can't haul that in a car", he was surprised when I opened the back, didn't even have to move the passenger seat forward.

A 40 gallon water heater isn't big at all, he must have been assuming a non hatchback, but even then you could slide it sideways across the back seat of most cars.

If you mean the retractable tonneau cover, it comes standard with the Advanced trim. It can be bought and installed in the Plus or Premium by removing the buttons and hooks for the cloth cover we have.

If yours is Plus or Premium trim, then you will need to remove the hooks in the side panel to use the hard cover. I think this is the parts you are looking for.

Edit: For some unknown reason the link was not working. I changed to different parts site.

Oh, my, goodness. I'd have to send that car straight to the recycler.

    I have severe hay fever.

Yeah, I used to load my PRIME with 3 bails and make 4 trips to a local feed store. Now we got mid-size SUV, we can load 8 at a time. We use to have minivan used for that purpose. It took whooping 12 bails.(y)

You are OK. They are bails of straws, not hay. ;)

I previously had a 2012 Prius V. We hauled a new bathtub in the box and the rear hatch was able to close. That thing was a lil workhorse! Just purchased a 2019 Prius Prime Advanced on 5/4/19. I had the windows tinted last week and am terrified to put too much in the back that might scratch the tint OR break that wavy ($$) glass! Love the car though!!

Not a Prime, but I was impressed when I saw this on Facebook this morning. Reminds me of some of the trucks I saw in Togo.
