Can you repair your own car? Can you afford 1600 for a new traction battery or 800 for a rebuilt brake modulator plus labor if you cant? Have either of these been replaced yet? You don’t even say how much the car is. My advice is you buy a non hybrid car.
Miles are good but do you have mechanical abilities or friends that can help? Very reliable cars but that battery if original is on borrowed time. How much? Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
On average, the 2008 is the most reliable year according to Consumer Reports. You never buy an average car, you buy one specific car. 80,000 seems way under used to me, I would worry about batteries. (Prius have 300,000 mile life as taxis, as taxis drive 24/7, they do not spend much time not charging the battery) MI may have road salt issues, but should not over heat the batteries. At 11 years, this should be a car you enjoy working on yourself, not a car that needs dealer mechanics for everything. (One exception, try not to do brake work yourself)
80K's not way under used. It depends on the upkeep too. Our 2010 garage queen has 80K kms (50K miles), so far continuing to behave like it just rolled off the dealership lot.
What is price? Link to ad? Maybe between 5 and 6k if it is mint. Set aside / expect to spend........ Spoiler about $300.....maybe 5 years from now..
Sorry, I meant the brake actuator assembly. People call it by so many different names I get confused.
