Well, looking for a good inverter for a 2015. Dealer won't cover it cause it isn't 2010-2014. Anyone got a suggestion for a decent priced one besides ebay or the junk yard? Not paying the $4k the dealer wants

It's a 2015 and not under warranty? High mileage?

Sometimes you can get lucky with a person parting out a wreck on Craigslist.

I wish. Doesn't look that hard though and can get one from junkyard for about $300

Any reason it's not under warranty?

    That's my original question also....

The warranty should still good even if purchased as a previously owned vehicle...and inverter is part of the hybrid portion of warranty.....

Evidently on the vehicle history there was a front end accident before I bought the vehicle in which the inverter cooler had to be replaced which is why they refuse to warranty it

If you had the car professionally repair, insurance claim, something doesn't seem right. Was it Toyota, or dealership refusing? Did you get anything in writing?

    I'm not seeing collision here:

7 things that can void a car warranty

Any way to get some low-cost legal advice? Maybe just mention seeking legal advice to the dealership, see what shakes out?

I would ask your insurance company for advice if I were in your shoes. Or, if you can find out which body shop did the repair, see if they have a warranty that might cover it. (IANAL, but I think in the US, automaker warranties generally don't cover collision damage, since insurance is supposed to cover that.)

first off if it was certified you get a 7yr 100k warrentee on all drive train components. Also insurance claims require that the car be fixed to factory specs with factory parts.
If it was indeed in an accident it should not be sold as a certified toyota hybrid.

Your dealer service department does not want to eat the cost of the repair. Keep pushing them and tell them that it is covered for 96 months or 100k
