2013 prius error code U0293 vehicle wont go into park

    there have been defective chargers

    Yes it is the charge control module 89261-47050.
    When it is plugged in it pull the can bus out of spec.
    Looks like it around 100-150$ for a new one.

    Well i was able to get it to drive.
    The integrated relays (the ones with the fuses on top) were corroded in the open position.
    Had to take apart the thing and use some of my tools i use to fix vintage pinball relays and logic setups.

    Going to have to see why it got so bad.
    Thinking maybe someone gave the engine bay a bath.

    But now the system says to "Check Hybrid system" (i did plug back in the module under the battery)
    Still drives tho. seems to use the battery and regen braking.
    So at least i can drive her.
    Will post more once i get all my codes cleared.

    a lot of pri get corrosion in the wiring in and around the battery, worth inspecting.

    also the battery cooling circuit

    Any reason or solution to keep it out?
    thinking after giving everything a good clean and use some corrosionX electronic connector spray to keep it at bay.
    Used in on my boat for years and has been great just never thought of having to do it in my car....

    Details on the battery cooling circuit?
    Should this be something i do preemptive work on?

    not that i have read. i think it's just humidity. you can find info/videos in the gen 2 and 3 battery rebuilding threads. maybe the spray will help.

    there is an air intake grille in the back seat area. the circuit runs from there to the two cooling fans inside the battery housing. there are pics here or on the net. you want to make sure air is flowing properly.

    Okay, I will definitely take those off and make sure there are no obstructions.
    The last thing I want is an overheating lithium battery.

    There's no way of keeping out the corrosion that I know of. Since it's air cooled, it can't be sealed off. Anti-corrosion sprays are an interesting idea, but the ones I know of will probably attract dust. Unless you live in a salty environment, the wires and connections normally go for 10-15 years before needing attention. Since Michigan salts the roads, that can be a factor. (Hint: If you change your profile location to the city and state, it makes it easier for people to give location-specific advice. ;))

    Okay, well i finally got all my codes cleared minus one for the driver window motor. The auto function is not working.
    But besides from that this thing is ready.

    I used the CRC connector spray clean on every ECU plug i could find both inside the engine bay and cabin.
    I also used a pipe clear like device called a piksters they are for flossing but work great for connectors.

    After cleaning them i used a pikster to wipe some corrosion x on them all to prevent any future build up.

    The last part to arrive tonight is new hood brackets and tubing for the windshield spray.

    Any good recommendations on a wall charger for this vehicle?
    All the ones i can find are 400$ range.

    Congratulations!!

    I used the L1 EVSE that came with it for away from home (which I'm guessing you don't have) and a Duosaida L2 EVSE. Those are available on Ebay or Amazon for around $180-200. They plug in. The wall mount ones have nice features, but you do have to pay for them.
