So apparently I have been accessing the passenger light the “hard” way by removing the intake silencer. Not really hard that way either, but easier if you take out the coolant tank as shown.

I think I ended up doing both, when I was trying to get at the parking light sockets.

Lol... the parking light you can get it without removing anything, but it’ll be in an awkward twisting arm position. Also helps that we have small arms and hands haha...

I have the Nimbus mount which swaps out for the shift knob.

Makes use of a space that is just there.

    Good video(y).

The only problem with those magnetic mounts is they interfere with wireless charging. And a magnet on the phone will overheat a wireless charger.

But wireless chargers are slower than wired.

Any chance of a compression test video?

It would be helpful if it shows how to do it without a Techstream. Also, I'd probably get a loaner compression tester from AutoZone, which may be missing the right adapter, so it would be good to know which adapter to look for. Apparently the spark plug is a weird size, and since it's not in the the most easily accessible place, I don't want to strip the threads trying a wrong fitting.

This week, I just brought home a 2012 Three with 120k miles on the clock, so your videos are going to be extremely helpful soon, as and after I accumulate the parts. There's a 12 month, 12,000 mile powertrain warranty from a Toyota dealership, so I want to make sure I can either forestall a failure or catch a hidden one.

I'd like to do the compression test while changing the plugs and cleaning out the EGR system, so if a video isn't available, can anyone suggest how best to crank the engine at the right speed and what which adapter to have?

    TIA

Or maybe a leak-down test? That is done without cranking the engine. Well, just involves some by-hand cranking, to position pistons.
