I just bought a Prius that has no combination meter installed. The original unit went out and the owner sent it off for repair to an eBay vendor and never got it back. I can buy a new unit and have it sent off for reprogramming, but I don’t know how to get the exact mileage. Does Techstream have the ability to determine the cars actual mileage?
Contact Matt @Texas Hybrid Batteries and or at Prius Speedometer Replacement A better meter for 1/3 the price, including installation.
I don't recall ever seeing mileage on any of the techstream screens I've used, but I rarely go into areas other than engine and HV battery. Some options would be: Enter the VIN on the Toyota website to see dealer maintenance history, it will have mileage stamps There should be a mileage entry for the title transfer. Any chance previous owner kept a service log/notebook for service and fuel purchases? Maybe there's a "tire store" receipt in the glove box. They always have mileage documented on them. You could estimate additional mileage by tire brand and current wear. Is there an oil service sticker on the windshield or door jamb with a "mileage due for next change" ? .
Do they do any type of smog check or inspection in Texas? They usually log the mileage for those type of things.
