I found this on Facebook, it is near Portland OR where my daughter is in school. I can't believe the mileage is that low...he said it is and is not rebuilt. I am not sure what to think. They want $7000 it seems like a good deal....but????? thanks for any advice They also said Carfax is good.
If you can verify the information. Run a free state website title check (liens, unpaid tickets) and vehicle history / autocheck. Dealer black book is as follows: BASE MMR $3,275 Avg Odo (mi) 151,623 Avg Cond 3.0 Typical Range $2,175 -$4,375 MMR ADJUSTMENTS Mileage +$1,900 West Coast +$360 Condition +$840 Blue -$30 ADJUSTED MMR $6,350 Minus the condition adjustment is 5500. 6-6.5k tops is what you're looking to pay.
welcome! low mileage is bad on a hybrid, they like to be driven. you will be looking at 3k for a new battery in short order.
I forget if it was on here or somewhere else but there was a barn find prius somewhere with no miles and it was over 10 years old and runs perfect after sitting all that time. If the car had been in extreme heat or temperatures it could be toast for sure. The northwest is pretty moderate. If it got drove every few weeks its probably a similar risk to any other. Its a lot to pay but to get another 250k out of the car might take 20 years. It will likely need a new battery at some point either way.
I don’t know if they do smog/emissions tests in Oregon on a regular basis but that’s a good way to look for inconsistencies. In California they always log the odometer reading so if you see less miles you know something’s wrong.
get the vin and plug it into the toyota owners site. it will give you all the dealer service history. grab a car fax for accident reports
We've only got 50K miles (80K kms) on our 2010; have noticed no difference in the battery. Knock on wood...
