    In pictures, it looks more attractive to me than the 3.
    Maybe the higher price is to prevent some canniblization

    I'm still surprised at no dash. I live by my HUD and can't imagine having the speedometer that far out of my field of view.

    The Y is more interesting than the 3 but still has the ugly nose and is still way too expensive. Maybe in 5-10 more years they'll get closer to competitive parity price-wise. $58,500 for the way I'd want it, and I'd only pay $35,000 for that.

    No, I certainly will when the right car comes along. But I don’t like sun roofs or the sun, period.

    Looked at one in person, but haven't driven one since you basically can't unless you buy one.

    Looks even worse in person than in the pictures.

    Me neither. After having one, I was going to go out of my way to get a Prius without one but then I bought a Prime that doesn't offer one.

    The glass roof would have to be more-or-less opaque (maybe 5% transmittance) for me to tolerate it.

    I was talking about the center tablet that has the "dash" on it, not the look of the car.

    I drive a center screen Prius and I think it took me two weeks to get used to it. Of more concern to me are the lack of tactile knobs and buttons for the commonly used functions like HVAC, defrost, wiper speed, cruise control. Those are things I use without really thinking, without stabbing at a screen while trying not to take my eyes and concentration off the road and traffic. Another thing I never understood is the need for motorized steering wheel up/down in/out, glove box door opening and charge port door opening. Why the cost, weight and complexity for things that aren't used that often?

    I want a higher seat and the Y seemingly fills that need. The X is just excess to my wants and current needs. But, by the time one is available and tested by others, I'll have probably gotten another Hybrid with known tech, local dealer and service, universally understood controls (I couldn't let my wife drive any Tesla, she doesn't do new interfaces, she would be the first to tell you) and about $15k lower price.

    Steering wheel: There are some families that multiple people use the car on a regular basis. You can have profiles for each driver and the steering wheel will automatically go to the right place for that driver.
    Glove box: It is locked in valet mode and maybe other modes, not sure.
    Charge port door: Used all the time.

    This isn't a "sunroof." I live in SoCal, the sun NOT an issue with the Tesla glass roof. You remind me of my wife, "I don't like escargot" until she tried it for the first time. Now she orders it as an appetizer at every opportunity. (y)

    The Tesla roof is essentially 0% transmittance while still being transparent. You are spouting GIGO.

    It took my wife, a non-tech person who has trouble with new interfaces, two days to get used to the center screen interface. Set it and forget it. No need to take your eyes from the road. There is no stabbing at the screen. Wipers are automatic, HVAC is automatic. cruise control is by tactile scroll balls on the steering wheel. Autopilot allows you to take your eyes off the road for short periods of time to survey the traffic conditions around you, unlike your car that requires your concentration of the road and traffic ahead of you. You are demonstrating that you are jumping to conclusions without spending some seat time with the car.
    Another thing I never understood is the need for a starter motor, radiator, motive batteries that only give 15 miles of range, power windows, power seats. Why the cost, weight. and complexity for things that aren't used that often?

    And exposed yourself and me to the identified health risks of ICE pollution. Play the odds with your health but not with mine!
    BEVs are known tech, dealer service is a rip-off, if you know enough about computer controls to post on this forum, you are more than capable to drive a Tesla. Do you still do calculations on your abacus?

    I have a very good German woman friend from Vancouver, B.C. She is a Porsche fanatic and gets two or three speeding tickets a year. I was telling her my Tesla would blow her Porsche off the road. She said she would never drive an electric car. I asked why. She said an electric car doesn't make any "Vroom, vroom!" :ROFLMAO:

    That's a contradiction.

    I often enjoy driving a car manually, and do so every day. But I don't speed. HUD enables me to do that without taking my eyes off the road.

    I had a "sun roof" once long ago and never wanted one again. The model 3 roof is completely different. You forget it is there. Then you look up.
