Hey all! Just made the purchase yesterday. Like the subject says, I bought a LR AWD from inventory. Definitely saved me quite a bit but I will have the hassle of traveling cross country to pick it up. Definitely looking forward to the road trip back though. Will share various experiences along the way in this thread. Current time table is a pick up of Tuesday afternoon.

It's my understanding that the $1200 delivery fee is still collected even if picked up at the factory. If so, why go pick it up?

You get money off when you buy something in inventory (usually a test driven car). It was substantial enough that I don't mind that it only has 79 hard driven miles on it. They were going to charge me $2,000 extra transportation (beyond the standard fee) to move it closer to me. Therefore, I will go get it. :)

You just have to call the main sales number to find vehicles like this.

Why do you think they don’t put them online?

    ROAD TRIP! (y)

Just got back from a 1,000 mile road trip in my brand new Clarity. Great way to spend some time getting to know your new car.

I don't believe they put inventory cars online. At least I've never seen a site that shows it.

Ask them to fully charge it.
When I got mine it was only at 50%. Not a big deal since I live only ~20 miles away

Yep, will be very important that it's pretty full.

I got mine last July, just as they ramped to ~5000 per week (plus S and X). To charge 1000 cars per day takes a lot of charger time.

I was just thinking they would want you to have a great experience on day one with a new car not range anxiety.

The vast majority of people picking them up probably don't have far to go. And you don't want to store them long at a high state of charge.
