Checked underhood 15 amp and swapped w known good headlamp fuse- Checked under steering wheel 7.5 ACC fuse and is good- swapped w known good fuse. I have no radio- Dome lamps or smart key functions. Note- these did work before car was sitting for 6 months. Charged 12v battery at 1amp to bring to 14- Currently 12.86 hv was rebuilt and balanced - and car has lost all but vsc warning lamp . Ideas?
Bad connection at one of the main battery cable connection points. If you have "jump points" away from the actual battery, check the voltage there when you get it as close to "ready" as possible. Was the 12.8 measured when it was "on" ??
Battery checks at 12.5 w headlamps on and also- replaced ACC 7.5 and underhood 15 Dome fuse w new. No change. Think the radio has a fuse on rear like aftermarket? Any ideas.
IS there a fuseable link on the 12v battery that could be bad? Or underhood- the large link is all intact-
So I have checked main battery 120 a fuse and 5 amp fuse and also disconnected and reconnected positive and ground- I get 12.5 volts at jump terminal resting - 12.8 starting- I am at a loss. I will go and replace all interior fuses in cabin box - I did some relay switching thinking maybe one was stuck- Any ideas ????
I do not- I am suspecting bad Body Control Module- I am not getting 12v at the under hood fuse panel- at Dome lamp fuse-
If you areceived not getting power to either side of the fuse I would not expect the body ECU. I would think more on power distribution. I don't have wiring for your year but have a newer one. I will look at mine on my desktop and see where it is fed from, a lot of the times they do the same thing over many years. Maybe someone has the right diagram and will chime in.
Just following the dome light fuse back to where it is fed from shows it going to the IG1 1 relay. This is a newer diagram and if your car doesn't have this relay my information will be of no use to you. Full wiring diagrams are available from Do it Yourself Automobile Repair Manuals - Mitchell 1 DIY This is owned by Snap On Tool and if you work on your own car this is as cheap as you can go without going through Toyota.
Well I have something as all functions except the radio, smart key dome and such When checking fuse for dome and amp- I get no voltage Also- when selecting audio on the touch screen- IT displays NO Audio-
Very possible I’ll have some chasing to do I’m going to double check the smart key white box in trunk and verify I connected it I don’t remember u doing it when I moved the battery- it’s possible
PROBLEM SOLVED So I had 12 to the Dome circuit- but not out after the fuse in engine bay I searched inside at the fuse block and found a red wire that had no power in any position, acc or Run Using a fused test lead and paperclip to probe- I jumped the dead lead w another 12v cicuit and all my lost functions returned. There is a break in the wire from the underhood block to the interior Body Control - so I bypassed that and have a 7.5 Fused lead in place - Pictures to come-
Here are the pictures of the red dome lead - and the empty socket I’m taking 12 from. If I need to I will also find different 12v source - until then this will suffice. I can’t tell you how happy I am to have the features that were missing .
