    I work in a shop doing diagnostics and I agree that most modern vehicles are much, much better than the 80's and 70's, however there are vehicles we get more often then others: 2014+ Mitsubishi Mirage is the absolute worst modern vehicle ever built. Also Nissan's CVTs fail at around 40-90k miles. Some Fiat-Chrysler vehicles such as the 200/Avenger/Dart are bad quality vehicles overall.

    I'm coming right up on the 100k mile marker, so also looking for recommendations on that service (likely take it to a trusted mechanic as opposed to a Toyota Dealership). It looks like the maintenance guide specifies the inverter fluid needs to be replaced at 150k then every 50k thereafter, but the engine coolant needs to be replaced at 100k and every 50k thereafter. Does that sound about right?

    Gen 3 is not a bad car. Many have been driven just as many miles as a Gen 2. It all depends on the driver and the maintenance done to any car.

    That's exactly right. They should have you as a technical writer: the way it's spelled out in the Toyota booklet is confoundingly confusing.

    About transmission fluis. My Prius C 2012 has 83000, In a wshop they say to me that if didnt change it at 30000 I can't change it anymore. So either you change it every 30000 or never change it. Do this sound logic? Thanks

    Do not ever take your car back there again.

    The transaxle fluid change is like many things people like to argue about on the internet.
    Many people (probably most people) never perform this maintenance at all, while others change the fluid regularly.
    If you decide to have this service performed, it's relatively simple to do and not that expensive ($120 more or less) but you have to make sure that they use the OEM fluid.

    I'm not reading where many of the C-types are having transavle trouble and yours is a relatively low mileage car.

    Read up on it in this forum if you're interested, but honestly you might also be well advised to skip this maintenance.
