Yes, figured someone would make that point... But what if instead of funding endless war, endless fossil fuels extraction and general multi-national looting and pillaging of every nook and cranny of the planet we had a Green New Deal that would get all the world's top electrical engineers and developers focused on working together to advance planet saving technology as quickly as possible, without there being a limit to everyone getting paid for their work?

Currently we always have trillions of dollars for tax cuts for rich people and $10 million missiles and occupying oil fields, but never money for everything else. So what if we turned that upside down and we could no longer afford to bomb other countries back to the stone age, could no afford to ensure Jeff Bezos and his ilk never pay taxes because we were spending trillions of dollars on advanced planet recovery technology and alternative energy?

If there was enough funding, identifying bottlenecks and addressing them, buying out patent holders in the way of advancement of the technology, passing right to hack laws/rewriting some patent laws, as well as teaching computer code as mandatory learning at every age level in public schools... Investing trillions in a robust rapidly improving future for all, rather than the same old, same old of putting most of the government funding towards continuing to destroy the world to make a small number of people rich is the point that we all need to make.

I suspect this is already happening and will naturally happen on its own, but the challenge is making it happen sooner than later because the urgency has never been greater...

On that note, the $35K Model still doesn't exist.

Some folks (TSLA corporate outlook - Page 128 - My Nissan Leaf Forum) on Monday noticed the mentions of the standard range version are gone. I just confirmed it again myself at https://3.tesla.com/model3/design#battery. They used to say that the standard range battery version was coming in 4-6 months. Has been "4-6 months" for awhile, including I believe in Dec 2018.

This could mean any number of things...

Meanwhile, tax credit on Teslas has been at $3750 since 1/1/19 and will be reduced again on July 1st and be 0 on 1/1/2020: Electric Vehicle & Solar Incentives | Tesla.

My income's too high to qualify for the $2500 (CA) CVRP.

No one really made many comments about being at said auto show and kicking the tires on the AWD Prius?

Saw one at the Chicago show. It was on a platform, advertised as AWD-e, but I couldn't reach the tires to kick them.

They also actually had a Prime at the Chicago show, but it was locked up and there was absolutely no advertising or promotion. It was just there.

I planned on going to the Chicago Auto Show this year but it didn't happen. I have been out of touch with what has been going on except for here. I don't have a habit of stopping by the dealers to find out what is going on and am not in the market for another car for now.

I enjoy going to auto shows and checking out what is coming up.
It also gives me a chance to ask a number of dealers about their EV offerings all at once :)

Similar to my experience at the Boston show in January. But unlike my experience in previous years, where the whole advantage of going to the show was that the cars were unlocked and accessible.

The excuse this year was that the 2019 Prius was not yet officially on the market.
