the plastic underneath the armrest on my 2009 Prius has cracked and now the leather sags. I'm afraid my elbow is going to poke through at some point. Is there an easy way to fix/replace this? Is it a particularly expensive part?
It's attached to the door panel with melted plastic. But you can knock the plastic off the tops and use quarter inch screws to hold it back on. Upholstery will need to be removed to cover something over the broken area then everything put back. My plastic wasn't broke but I wanted more padding and new material. Did myself since upholstery is my job. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Those are just leather covers though. The plastic support underneath is breaking. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Mine broke on the passenger side. I ended up fixing it by using hot glue and a supporting piece of plastic underneath. Took off the door panel it's easily acceptable. SM-T700 ?
