This is what I’m gonna be doing this weekend. Nothing special. I found out the dust covers were all in bits and start seeing a little leak. Since the car has 142k miles on it, I’ve gone ahead and ordered shocks for the rear as well.

New sway bar links today. Heard a rattle on rough roads. This fixed it.

    Hello Dawit,
I know you've sold your Prius but could you tell me where you purchase LED Ghost Shadow Lights w/ the Prius logo? The lights on Ebay & Amazon only have the Toyota logo. Also can you give me details on the logo for that glove box I'm thinking of doing something similar? Thanks.

Well it was a long day.
I received bunch of parts from Japan, eBay and dealer. I spent most of Sunday installing them.

I installed ct200h/RAV4 sway bar brace. It replaces 2 separated parts with a solid one.
I replaced engine brace (it's a flimsy pipe) with a T-shaped part from Prius G.
I replaced 2 triangle-shaped braces with the braces from Prius alpha-g. They have additional mounts for a stiffening plate which I also installed.
I replaced bottom rear shock mount bolts/nuts with the revised bolts/nuts from frs/brz/ae86. Supposedly new bolts/nuts eliminate unwanted movement.
    All parts are genuine Toyota.
And finally I changed the oil.

I didn't take pictures, but here's one from internets to give you a general idea.

Spent a few hours changing out the shocks and struts Saturday evening and Sunday morning. Total time spent was 4 hours and I took my sweet time. I spent a good 30 minutes taking out the cowl and rear quarter trims (2010 and 2011 models don’t have those plastic covers in the cargo area for access).

PB Blaster is my new friend!!! That made working with nuts and bolts much easier. It was my first time using air tools as well. That was something I bought myself when my wife and I moved to our new house with a 3-car garage.

I did not realize how bad the shocks were until I took them out. The car rides like when I first bought to car again.

One of the rear shocks compressed. I took this picture almost a minute after I compressed it. Pretty worn out. 24DD0E05-7AD1-47E8-AF74-94EF4E854807.jpeg

I did our 2010’s about 6 months ago at around 180 k miles and they were in a similar state;).

But for a set of shocks to go that long, is great:).

No PB Blaster needed for the job out here though (y).

So here's a question for you guys. Now that I have new shocks installed, what do I need to do to trash it? Can I just take it to the dump or do I need to take it to a parts store for recycling?

You’re supposed to drill a hole into the cylinder to allow the nitrogen out;).

Then you can dispose of it in the normal trash:).

The directions on how and where to drill the holes should be with the new shocks. But that’s what I did (y).

Jdm G parts came from akayama trading, turnaround time was 10 days.
You can take a look at reviews/pics at minkara.carview.co.jp with Google translate, or just Google the part numbers.
52255-76010 (jdm) is the same as 52255-0r020 so I got it used from eBay.
Revised shock bolts are tad shorter but they still lock the whole nut. I got em from a dealer but only because my akayama order was already placed. I recommend getting them from akayama because it's cheaper. Part numbers are 2 of SU003-05235 and 2 of SU003-05213. There are some reviews at minkara as well, if you Google pn it will show some pics.
