Sorry if this has been asked before. Is there a way of turning the main entertainment radio GPS screen off when driving ? I prefer a dark cabin especially when driving at night. SM-N960U1 ?
I think they're asking about the Entertainment screen. Mine has a PWR button - but it's not black, though even with power off. The phone standby and some other icons will likely never turn off.
The PWR button is just for turning the audio off, if the OP is is looking for a blank screen then he must go through the settings as Tideland Prius suggests.
I had a look - no, I couldn't blank it out in the Entertainment System settings - without black paper and sticky tape. It's not only used by the phone, but also the backup camera, so needs to be active. I'm not sure - when the car beeps and makes other noises - as it does quite often - are they processed by the Entertainment System? I listened, but couldn't work out where they were coming from - whether it's the speakers, I'm not sure.
On mine it's, SETUP - DISPLAY - Screen off. Although it does leave the touch buttons illuminated. Selecting NAV or MEDIA will bring the screen back on.
It would have been nice for safety factors to have a single press option to turn off the JBL radio entertainment display. Thanks for looking into it. SM-N960U1 ?
