At the recommendation of its supplier, HUBER+SUHNER, a leading supplier of high-powered charging cable technology in the industry, Electrify America is shutting down the majority of its high-powered chargers (150 kW – 350kW) in its network to investigate a potential safety issue with its liquid-cooled cables. The recommendation was issued to all of HUBER+SUHNERS’ customers using the technologyworldwide.

“The safety of our customers is our highest priority,” said Giovanni Palazzo, presidentand CEO of Electrify America. “Out of an abundance of caution, Electrify America is shutting down all of our stations that use the HUBER+SUHNER high-powered cables until we can confirm that they can be operated safely. We are confident that HUBER+SUHNER will investigate and resolve this issue as quickly as possible.”

Electrify America chargers not affected by the high-power cable issue will remain open and available for use. The 50kW CCS chargers, all CHAdeMO connectors and L2 chargers are not impacted.

    . . .

There is a list of stations and their operational state.

FYI, PlugShare.com has flagged all the Electrify Stations.

Shutting down their 150kW to 350kW chargers?!? Since NO cars accept power that high, that'd mean they're having issues even running them at 50kW since (afaik) that's the most that manufactures have set up their battery's hand shake signaling to accept {except Bolt - 80kW). Major issues it would seem - if they can't even push (turning on model) 1/3 or 1/7 their rating.

Tried two stations got one to connect momentarily and had a charge on my CC go through but no juice. It shut me off. Had been planning this as a booster to make my trip less stressful. No go. Should have read other reviews. Did not call in.....yet

Had to try 3 units before I could get one to work. Of course Electrify America's customer service is nowhere to be found except for bankers hours.

These are the crappiest, buggiest chargers I’ve ever used. And their support is not 24/7, so good luck there. I tried every station and plug with no luck. One station refused to release the charger from my car for 5 minutes. Quite the panic. Oh, and I now have literally 10 charges from them on my card.

The chargers will be coming back online. The cable supplier found a short in a prototype, and had concerns the issue might have made it to the production model.

now now .... no teasing ~ it may work. Most of us may be styling in a hydrogen car in only 10 years.

Wow - that's especially troubling - experiencing how unreliable the Blink network typically is. Maybe they never tried Blink. Would like to see comparisons between the two, in order to grasp how bad they are.
