I plug my classic 160GB iPod Classic into the USB port of my 2018 Prius Prime Plus, and the play order is kind of weird. With my old 120GB iPod Classic, after syncing or resetting, it would always start with the alphabetically-first artist (A.C. Greene or something like that). Now, I can't even figure out how it's deciding the order. I play mostly podcasts, so it starts with podcasts, then it plays them in what seems like random order. If I SELECT a podcast, it will play through that podcasts episodes, as you would expect. But if I just plug in and let 'er rip, it starts with a podcast at (seemingly) random, and plays various other podcasts. I would love to know what the logic or rule is. Anybody know? Thx!
Double check that your iPod is not in shuffle mode; also make sure that on the Prius audio screen the random/shuffle is not selected.
I personally haven’t tried plugging my ol’ classic iPod into my P.Prime. However, I’ve noticed that, on my iPhone, shuffle settings on the iPhone itself aren’t linked to the shuffle settings on the P.Prime’s screen. More specifically, I can hit shuffle on the P.Prime screen, and it puts the iPhone Music app into a permanent shuffle mode regardless of whether I tell the iPhone to shuffle or not. I have to connect it to the car and hit the shuffle button, not once, but twice to get my iPhone out of that permanent shuffle mode! Not sure whether that helps, but possibly at least related.
I ran an Ipod w/34gb of tunes for 8 years in my Gen II, then 2 years in the Leaf, and now 1 year, and still running, in the Niro. In all cars, it only shuffled when I had the pod run in shuffle mode, or the car had shuffle mode selected! In all cars the pod ran as designed, even last year when it got to 116° the pod was nice enough to tell me it was too hot to run, move to someplace cooler! I had to agree....116° just sucks..... at least it wasn't 98% humidity......
