Gen4 forum, Samsung SGH-T404G phone I am trying to update my contacts list from my phone to the bluetooth on my 2018 Prius III 7in screen. When I originally paired the phone to the bluetooth the contacts list transferred just fine. Now when I go to Settings > Phone > Transfer Contacts" it immediately disconnects my phone and doesn't transfer the list. I have tried everything I can think of on the phone but no luck.' It's not a cell phone but more like a flip phone. Any suggestions? Jerryd
Your phone needs to be "paired" with the Prius screen. Do you see that your phone is paired if you go to Bluetooth setting on the Prius screen. Also, Bluetooth needs to be enabled on your phone - they can only pair with each other if each side has Bluetooth enabled.
I do use the Prius Screen to make calls I'm just trying to update the contact list from my phone to the bluetooth list.
Jerry - if you can make calls, then the devices are talking to each other. On your phone, go to Settings, then Connected Devices. You should see something like Paired Devices or Previously connected devices - click on the settings icon to the right of Toyota Touch, and verify that Contact Sharing is allowed.
booke2, Thanks for the replies. What is actually happening is my phone connects as soon as I start the car and when I can get to the point where the Prius screen says transferring contacts my phone immediately disconnects from the bluetooth. If I go to the bluetooth on my phone and tell it to connect it will but then immediately disconnects again. I didn't find anything like Connected devices or Contact Sharing in my settings? Remember it's not a cell phone. Jerryd
I'd remove the connection - at both ends - and try again. With my last car, the bluetooth connection became eratic, and I was able to "debond" it (I think that was the term FORD used to remove it), and then re-pair-ed it successfully. Long time ago, don't remember details though.
alanclarkeau, You think I should unpair and start all over even though everything else works except updating my contact list? Jerryd
Yes, I'd try that - if all else has failed. That's what I had to do with my FORD - but that was about 4-5 yrs ago, and not a TOYOTA.
Probably none. Occasionally mine doesn't pair when I get in - but it comes good when I turn BlueTooth off and on on the phone - or reboot the phone. But if that didn't work, I'd debond them both and start again.
