Just filled up with E15 & I swear I started chuckling because I began thinking about this thread while standing there. lol
I swear it was not this high back when I posted, but the Triple Stop that has E0 gas is now E10 for $1.89, E0 for $2.49.
My last tank was $1.71 for Murphy gas (1.74 w/o the discount.) The closest station to my office is a grubby mom & pop place that sells “Pure” (E0) for something like $2.40. Gas is going back up though. Soon may get back to $2 YMMV
My statement is that the 84 octane gasoline is in the designated 87 octane ethanol blend (E10). Coupled with the 114 octane ethanol, also in the designated 87 octane ethanol blend, the 87 octane designed gasoline engine cannot adjust to the wild concoction of 114 & 84 octane fuels. That is why 87 octane E0 produces 8% to 5% better MPG than incorrectly designated 87 octane ethanol blend(E10), by only introducing 10% ethanol.
but... if you buy E0, your going to get 5-8% better mpg's. LOL The whole world is ramping up Ethanol production. (Well I guess they are - i just quickly googled ethanol production). I guess I really don't get why litesong is such a crusader for it's demise. I mean, right off the bat, it's a renewable resource & decreases the reliance on fossil fuels. That alone is a win/win. Another big "win" is it's cheaper @ the pump. I'm sure it has it'd downside too. Everything does. But he/she is kinda "ate up" with the whole idea of death to ethanol and if you don't agree with him then your a puppet or slave, or tool or whatever he calls it of the ethanol lobby. And this is exactly why you are wrong. 'Pure gas' is itself a wild concoction of 150 differing Octane compounds, no different than E10. And it varies by season and by refinery. In winter, it should evaporate easy to help starting, in summer evaporation is bad. (vapor lock) it is no more all 87 octane than is E10 all 87 octane. it almost undoubtedly has other alcohols in it. You use MY word "concoction" to equate E0 & E10 & that isn't true. E10 is the wild concoction, ranging from 84 octane (& less) to 114octane (& more?), with little 87 octane, which is the most efficient for 87 octane designed gasoline engines. E0 IS 87 octane, with much 87 octane, which is what is most efficient for 87 octane designed gasoline engines. That is why my last five 87 octane low compression ratio(9:1 to 11:1) gasoline engines gave 8%, 8%, 7%-8%, 7% & 5% better MPG burning 87 octane E0, rather than incorrectly designated 87 octane ethanol blend (E10). This is easy to understand, even for "ethanol in gasoline industry" advocates. But such advocates pretend NOT to understand & add posts to confuse the ethanol debate, just as "ethanol in gasoline industry" has done for 30+ years.

I just filled up my Titan last night with E85 swear to god - just because you keep posting this stuff. My Titan cancels all your E0 usage. BOOM !!!! Seriously I did....! lol
With 85% methanol it appears your truck has an alcoholic drinking problem. Most vehicles on the road drink gasoline.
& you'll have to fill again, 20% to 30% sooner. Me.....I'm out in the wild where I want to be. Several times with 15 gallons of E0, I entered eastern Oregon (no 87 octane E0, there). Explored 730 wild Oregon miles before returning to Washington state...... & getting more & cheaper E0....... no hybrid, no diesel, no turbo.
I say the same think about my 2000 Toyota Tundra full size pickup I bought new. Never any issues with it.
Some vehicles can use up to e85 also and not get hit with big MPG differences if you fill them up with e10 or e0. In fact that means that vehicle is less efficient gasoline wise if it combust e0 or e10 no better than e15. Don't be like the guy named starship in here that said by lowering his vehicle by 6 psi had no mpg difference on his car, after his long replies and stance, he said he was talking about his Rav 4 setup the whole entire time. Not relevant to gen 3 sub forum.
Google leans a certain direction in politics, when you do a search for Trump, most search results will be negative coverage of him. Type ethanol, you get hammered with green friendly facts and the negatives of adding ethanol doesn't exist, that's not research. What google doesn't tell you is how politicians uses ethanol as as vote grabbing. What google doesn't tell you is how much more blow by and residue it leaves in ICE compared to e10 and e0. Go onto youtube and find videos of cars being dyno tested with e0, e10 and e85 then make conclusion of their graphs.
