In Torque create a vehicle profile and then edit it.

Anyone experience AVG MPG reading about 7 mpg lower than the average on the cars on board? I'm running Torque with the pids I downloaded here. See attached pic showing them side by side. I was wondering if the car is that far off or Torque and if there's a way to even them up in the equation. My instant mpg is within 1 mpg or so of each other.

Can someone explain to me the "test results" feature of the Torque Pro - seems to give me a lot of "fails." A lot of it seems to be emissions related - does the below mean I'd fail smog?

I have being having some issues with setting up the PIDs on my android.

I have tried clicking on the downland link on your post, this is what I got.
Does it mean, I'd have to installed the torque app first, or what could be the problem?

    Thanks

In your file explorer enable hidden files/folders then go to ".torque" and create a folder "extendedpids".
Copy one of these two downloaded csv files into it. Maybe you have to extract the file before copying it, maybe it will happen automatic while copying. (If you turn your phone in landscape orientation, you should see, that the first file uses metric values and the second file uses us values (because of the complete file name) .)

Then follow the instructions to import the PIDs in the torque app.

Trying to see the mpg, l/100 km etc. but they are all coming up blank. From looking through the chat some people seem to have the same problem and then others are able to see their mpg. One user even referred to ones contained within the custom PIDs shared by usbseawolf however I cannot see a single one relating to fuel consumption? How are people able to see their mpg?

Because I didn't found such a PID in usbseawolfs file, I made it myself with a new PID:
You only have to divide the fuel rate with the velocity of the car. (for MPG vice versa) Don't forget to correct the dimensions.

Thanks so much for the reply. Any chance you have the equation for that?

Also are you asking if I'm using a SM-G900F?

In Torque App add a new PID to the custom PIDs and use my screenshots for configuring it. It will result in l/100 km, because it's usual here in Germany. You can change "Verbrauch" in range or whatever is common for you and if you change to MPG other limits will be necessary, too.

This equation uses the fuel rate in cc/min and the speed in km/h. Check this by showing each of them alone at dashboard. Maybe you'll see other dimensions, because I own the German/European Prius.
For correction I used the multiplier
    *60 (min to h) /1000 (cc to l) *100 (km to 100 km) = 6.

If you want MPG, then switch the two "val" terms (to speed/rate). Then the multiplier must be
    /60 (min to h) *0.621371 (km to mil) *1000 (cc to l) / 0.264172 (l to gal) = 39.2024.
If your speed is already in mph then one factor isn't needed, so the multiplier has to be 63.0902.

And no, I'm not interested in your device. I'm using the Tapatalk App with my phone for many boards like this one. And the app adds a signature like 'this was written with my Samsung xy ?', but in German. It seems to be transformed to this automatically by cutting each German word and adding the "?". Sorry, I'll have to change/remove it... Screenshot_2017-12-06-16-40-38.jpg Screenshot_2017-12-06-16-41-00.jpg

Hey, to all you other newbies out there who spent as long as I did trying to figure out if Torque Pro is also available on the iOS apple phones etc... it's not. There is a guy on the apple store scamming people with the name and logo so identical.. apple should be ashamed they haven't removed his app yet. and it costs $9.99.

Maybe we need to specify as I'm a computer tech and just a bit busy.. so I nearly got scammed myself. Just a heads up for efficiency and communications. But thanks for all the great info. I should have listened to you guys from the start.. Tried so many OBD2 readers. Even the expensive and clean looking app/reader called Fixd.. for me it was Fuxkd.. What a pain this repair has become. But learned a ton which is always good.

posting as someone who has intermittently followed priuschat going back to 2008, I am newly interested in monitoring my 2008 prius battery values. I tried to get torque and was unsuccessful, but stumbled across an app called fusion. I downloaded it and tried to come up to speed with the pids supplied by seawolf, but unsuccessful again. again stumbled across the fact that fusion has pids for a lot of different cars for a very reasonable price. Is there any advantage to continueing to pursue torque or is fusion a good alternative for someone who does not have the time to try to customize pids in the torque app. anyone have experience with fusion out there?

you need to tap display and hold til the option comes out, change the "display configuration" and change the "number of decimal places" to 3.
2 yrs too late maybe but may help others folks

How do you set the HV blower motor fan speed? Seems I learn something new about the 2nd generation prius every day!
