It will take longer to make available the standard interior and standard pack for the model 3, but without autopilot or tt&l but including destination
    Model S 100D -$95,000 335 mile range 0-60 in 3.2 seconds,
    Model S 75D - $77,000 - 259 mile range 0-60 in about 4 seconds
    Model 3 D P - $63,000 - 310 mile range 0-60 in 3.3 seconds
    Model 3 D LR - $52,000 - 310 mile range 0-60 in 4.3 seconds
    Model 3 MR - $45,000 - 262 mile range 0-60 in 5.6 seconds

All model 3s include the premium package which is not quite as nice interior as the S. The price will drop $5K when the standard package is available.

Tesla is doing a redesign of the S and X. The model S 75D really doesn't make much sense today with the model 3 D long range and model 3 Performance. My guess is the X loses its 75 kwh pack just because the S did. This makes the sell of the 3 versus S more profitable and clearer. There is speculation that pack redesign will lower pack costs and something sub 100 kwh may be offered, maybe a 80 kwh pack with similar cells to the model 3 long range would cut costs. That may allow higher than 100 kwh in the top of the line cars.

I think this will drop ASP (average selling price) but costs of the model 3 may cause higher profit margins for the company.

My prices include the price cut and destination charges (at least the one I paid in texas). I believe JamesBurke links to msn have the old prices but they also don't include destination which lets face it everyone pays.

shouldn't really freak anybody out. After all they discontinued the 60. And Iirc, with the S, I think there was even a handful of 40s that very quickly got discontinued. They discontinued the 85 pack, and they discontinued the 90.
Like Barney Fife used to say, "Nothing here to see folks, now Move Along."

40k for a new tesla model3 is pretty amazing, considering you can load up a prius close to the, even if you might not pay it
