I was experimenting with the Wi-Fi abilities this morning. It works really well for broadcasting live video. The button to snap a 12-megapixel photo while filming works well too.
I did have issues with my SD card. It worked at first and then it started messing up and would not record. I had a name brand card in it but I forget the brand. I bought another SD card and since then it has worked flawlessly. The company that sells mine warned about SD cards and I got lucky the second time. I also had to put an extension on the USB cable and that gave me a little problem. The cable was only two feet but gave me problems. I switched to another one and that took care of that.
I just upgraded from the VIOFO a119s to the a129 duo. Haven’t had any issues with either. The a129 records at 1080p for both front and rear camera at 30fps. If only running front it records at 60fps. Also has great clarity and is pretty cheap to buy on amazon or blackboxmycar for around $160-$170. This is a short clip of a near miss I had. (Only video I have recently downloaded) careful with the speakers. Volume is up on this video.
Looks real good. Is there anyway possible that you could upload that video using your phone as a hot spot and have someone watch it in Real Time ? Rob43
I don't believe so. You'd have to use a more sophisticated camera for that. I believe GoPro has that feature, which can be useful with drones.
I just got the camera today (still in box) & U3 card, but accessories might take another 3 + weeks (China) before I get them. In an effort to Not muddy this thread up, I'll start another thread soon to discuss things... Rob43
I guess, just like navigation system, Toyota will not give you good stuff! Don’t rely on it. Better buy and install something nice yourself
So I've been running this dash cam for most of the year & really like it. The price was right at ~$89 shipped, you'll also want either a 32gb or 64gb U3 Micro SD card. Forward & rear facing picture quality is very good, but I think the best feature is the GPS function. The GPS is always adding real time speed in MPH or KPH to all the video, this way if someone questions your speed, you can show what the GPS satellites are saying. The other really great GPS feature is the downloadable mapping software, once the micro sd card is inserted into your computer you can see real time mapping, video front and rear, speed, time and date, and GPS coordinates. Here's a rear facing cabin pic from this (birthday) weekend, my wife is about to park. www.amazon.com/Dashboard-Crosstour-Monitoring-Infrared-Detection/dp/B07FY4FNB6/ref=sr_1_13?crid=8V8VW4YI7PM2&keywords=contour+dash+cam&qid=1572295424&sprefix=contour+dash%2Caps%2C320&sr=8-13 Rob43
